Forum request - upload images into text instead of only as attachment ?

in The Commons
In posts we often need to show images. As I understand it, so far we can only attach an image but not directly place it within the post's text. As a workaround I often save the post -> copy the image link -> post that link with the "image link" function into the text. More easy would be to directly place the image in the text.

In-line images need a source, either an attachment or an external (accessible) host. I don't think that is likely to change.
Sort of - right click on the attachment and select "Copy image link", that will get the link to the thumbnail, if you remove the "thumbnails" part of the URL you will get the link to the actual image.
Are you trying to do something like this...?
Where you are adding images of something as you are explaining how to do something...
If that's the case then there is a thread in the Art Studio forum which I started a while back, where you can upload your images as thumbnails and then link back to them in the post as you are explaining whatever technical information you are trying to relay... or as in my case just confuse people with random nonsense like really low poly flying pigs...
The purpose of the thread made more sense a while ago, when the ability to just add an image directly (without the thumbnail thing) inline had just been lost... but I still use it because it makes the posts neater... especially now that the forum software no longer collapses (think that what it's called) previous posts when quoting from a series of quoted posts...
Heres the thread... https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/59113/an-ot-thread-for-images/p1
You can add a lot of images per post to help you organize or keep track of your images, which is also helpful... I think I've uploaded at least 30 images in some posts over there, but I have no idea what the limit** is or what's a reasonable number... I'd say, try and post at least more than eight before starting a new post to conserve thread pages.
Basically, you write and when want to add an image, upload it to your post page there, then get/copy the link to image (that seems to vary by browser) and go back to the post where you want to insert it and click the little mountain icon in the menu bar at the top of the text box...
In the image properties box add the copied link and choose a reasonable width for the image, like 650 or so and then post it and continue writing and adding images as necessary or in my case as the voices in your head tell you to...
You probably know how to do that, but I figured someone may come across this in the future (hopefully not the one where cockroaches have inherited the world), and they might not be familiar with the process.
Hope this was helpful and not redundant.
** Edited to add- I looked around at other posts over there and one has around 124 images loaded to one post.
Thank you both very much. I think both suggestions will come in handy. And thank you @McGyver for making me laugh. I'll try using the fun button more often.
Um, no. Why would I want to upload a lo rez pig? Seriously...
It will probably help prevent them from escaping - as we all know you can't get a square pig through a round hole.
