Anyone else watch RWBY?

If you don't watch it, you should check it out. I watch it for free on Crunchy Roll (paying gets HD and no commercials). Why check it out you ask? It's a series being titled by some as "American anime" and is mostly produced in Poser 4. I'm mostly a DAZ Studio user, but I'm thrilled to watch something made in a program I have, though my version is 9. It's extremely well made, and has a really good story. Aside from the story though, a lot of the fun for me is trying to figure out how they do it, and identifying models we all use. In the latest episode, it just dawned on me that the holding cells near the end come from our very own Jack Tomalin. It's GIS Orion, minus the tables. I've spotted lots of Stonemason and others, and am very sure the huge snake in some episodes, is the Morphing Python that many of us got for free once upon a time.

I'm not to sure of the characters, but think they may be heavily modified morphs of the very bases we use. I'm almost, but not quite certain, many female characters are very heavily modified Aikos. Any thoughts from others who have seen the series? I'd love to hear them.

Oh yeah, here's a nice little interview by the creator of the series: http://www.creativebloq.com/animation/rbwy-anime-action-dynamic-3d-twist-9134477

And here's the main trailers for the main characters all in one place. You'll love Yang's trailer

I've long been a fan of Monty Oum. His choreography is second to none when it comes to fight scenes, and his Dead Fantasy series is still one of the best fan-made animations I've ever had the pleasure to watch. I've been watching RWBY since the first episode, and it's wonderful how he's integrated a lot of pre-purchased items into the scenes without it being overly obvious.

The keen will spot them easily, but the cell-shaded nature masks them quite nicely and fits with the aesthetic they're going for. That's a level of creativity in a world of its own.

I was mistaken on one point. I had read someplace RWBY was made in Poser 4, but watching episode one again, they credit Poser PRO 2014. Still an awesome accomplishment. It may even persuade me to look at Poser again.

Still impressive! I have done a few simple animations in poser, so I can truly appreciate the amount of work that went into this. Thanks for the link to the trailers, pretty cool stuff!

I've been watching RWBY from the beginning. It's a great show and I love the characters. The animation is great, though I have seen some poke-through and other "amateur" errors. Still, it's a great show overall.

During my re-watch of a few episodes today while at work, I saw a bit of poke-through a couple times. I think what really impresses me is the relative fluidity of movement. Most animations I've seen from Poser or DAZ Studio seem a bit stilted, though all are better then anything I could ever attempt, and the battle sequences are more then I could ever dream.

I remember seeing the trailers for this about a year ago? All I remember is action. Is there a full fledged story arc for the characters?

I also remember the quad droid sold here in one of the trailers, am I right?

Yes, there is a story arc - Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang are learning how to use magic to defend their homeland, along with other teams at the same school. (They're called "Team RWBY" after their initials.) Of course, things don't go smoothly.

There used to be a Wikia wiki for the show, but it's gone now. There is a Tropes page for it, though.

And, yes, more than a few DAZ3D, Renderosity, and Content Paradise models are used in the show.
