Hair rendering with micro pixel problems?

Hi

What is going on to make this render do the fine, grainy red pixels in the hair, plus that one pixel by the ear. I've tried other lights, and they also show up. Is it material? Shader? Render settings?

I'm not sure it's the issue here, but there are transparency problems in the current build of Iray in DS. I beleive one workaround is to set Cutout Opacity to .99, instead of 1, in the Surfaces pane for the affected surfaces so that may be worth trying

I noticed once updating to 4.15 a few of my hair products starting out with massively glowing pixels like that right when it starts to render and not sure I ever let it go long enough to see if it would completely resolve, but did find with those particular products that if I went into the Surfaces (I believe everything except the Cap) and changed the SSS Amount to Zero, the problem completely went away. I don't understand SSS very well other than from using Volumes, so with Hair I'm probably losing something that others would be able to notice... May be worth at least trying setting it to Zero to at least pinpoint whether thats part of the problem?

That cleared the problem entirely, Phatmartino! I didn't even have to let the render complete to see that there was no problem any longer. Thanks for the tip, now I know what to do in another case!

Nice! Happy to help and should have mentioned initially, those pixels aside, awesome render! :D
