do you have a favorite artist or character for eyes?

my library giggawattage is kind of crazy.

was thinking i only need a couple of inner mouth texture sets.  1 sclera map.
maybe 10 eye colors per figure.

do you have a favorite artist or character for eye colors?

Thanks.

Mattymanx. https://www.daz3d.com/mmx-beautiful-eyes-2-for-genesis-3-and-8 I sort of stumbled across them and gave the first Beautiful Eyes set a try. Loved them. Bought both the Fantasy Eyes too.

If the irises are (close to) greyscale you can make them whatever shade with just one single texture! (or just desaturate one)

I have always liked the Natural Eyes results I see in promos. They are on my wishlist.

Recently? No one, really. Used to love Rebelmommy's eyes before she retired. But you can't use Victoria 3 assets with modern figures.

Soto/Hellboy. The eyes that come with Maxx HD for Brute 8 (and with Maia HD IIRC) are drop-dead gorgeous. The ones that come with Dolb HD for Ollie 8 are also very nice. Incidentally, Dolb has what is hands down the best material for teeth that I've found. It's natural rather than blindingly bleached, and I use it constantly instead of what comes with most characters.

Chevybabe25's Natural Eyes products (for G8 and G8.1) render beautifully. I do find the blue/grey range to be limited; the greens, hazels, and browns are much more varied and vibrant. Still totally worth it and include great morphs, normals, and scleral variations (a default and one each for aged and non-white characters).

ForbiddenWhispers for Genesis 8 geoshell eye builders, and Awesome Eyes for Genesis 2.

Parris' Macro Eyes are my favorite for Genesis 3.

Those are really good. Her set for 8.1 is even better - probably the best vendor package for realisitic eye materials I've seen.

Liquid Rust. They don't make characters for g8 but liked the nice skins and limpid eyes. Reminds me of a nagel painting come to life.

Raw Art.   Makes excellent monsters most of which I have and isn't prudish about giving us monster gens when it seems applicable.

Phx1966 seems obvious that I would like this, but great realism and figures.

J.Cade   I am extremely fond of hal. I think he is the best character in the store for toons. Excellent work.

I haven't really found a any one single vendor, as it completely depends on what kind of eyes I'm needing at the time. Mousso figures have nice eyes, though the scleras can be a bit bright (which is an issue with so many eyes in general). There are also some G8 core figures who have really nice eyes...Monique 8 comes to mind. I also tend to use a mish mash...so like for example with this image, I used Mousso eyes with a manual shader adjustment to make them purple in conjunction with the Natural Eyes HD morph -

For G8.1, I really haven't found any eyes that I like more than the ones that come with the new core figures. I have Michael 8.1, Victoria 8.1, and Torment 8.1 and I just pick one of those eyes for whatever character I'm working on. I purchased a couple 8.1 eye products and I haven't been able to top the eyes that come with those three characters yet.

Some of my favorite eyes have been mentioned, from Mousso, Hellboy/Soto, the eyeball props from Raiya. I also like Kayleyss' eyes from Aurore and Kjaer 8. The only 8.1 eyes I have are from White Priestess and I like those too. Finally, I'm surprised that I liked Vicey3D's eyes from Armine. I've been using those too. I just pick what looks best with the lighting.

I have all of these except Maia and love them. I also look at each new character I buy and check out their eyes for hetrochromatic options and note them on my character spreadsheet so when I need a blue/brown set or green/gray I can find it easily. I would love a set of eyes by a PA that is designed for hetrochromatic use, as well as both eyes at once.

For some reason, I love the eye materials/settings for Rumor from Jessaii at rendo and use them most of the time. I hear good things about the eyes of the new 8.1 figures, but I haven't moved to the new DS yet.

That would be fantastic, honestly. I really like the idea of being able to choose my own combos when needed and as someone with ME/CFS, I am more prepared than many to pay for conveniences like dozens of individual left and right eye presets that I don't have the stamina to save out myself.

I'd love to see a Natural Eyes add-on for heterochromia some day, for both the 8 and 8.1 versions.

On the subject of doing more with less, Maxx and Maia's eye maps are great for making custom heterochromia textures (as I'm sure are others but those come to mind). They all have the same pattern so complete heterochromia looks cohesive, and single irises with central or partial heterochromia match up perfectly no matter where you want the split to be. The blue ones actually have central heterochromia already, as do a number of the eyes in the Macro Eyes packages.
