Instances stopped copying clothing

I have a base model with 4 instances. I put pants on the base model, the pants appear on all the instances. This worked for about 10 outfits then suddenly stopped working. Now clothing only goes on the base model. Did I accidently push a button?

    Actual modelled pants, rather than textures? Were the successful one perhaps GoeGrafts,s et to hide part of the legs, and the ones that don't work regular fitted items?

    To get copied to the instances, the items must also be parented to the base figure, which doesn't always happen with a default load.

    It appears this was happening with clothing from one particular creator. I'll have to look at the Metadata to see what makes it different
