The precision of 12.0 is a very huge value for most cases. Avoid it. I recommend values of less than 5.0 for most cases. Higher precisions could be useful only if you want to do a tiny intersection of two objects and want this intersection with high exactitude (and many polys).
And, by the way, the Surface adaptivity is also too high (although it doesn't slow down the computer), Values smaller than 0.1 are enough in most cases.
Is it possible to create a working Prism with Gescon? I use a couple cubes and the difference function to make a cyndric triangle. But while I could get the interior of my "prism" to rainbow, I couldn't get rainbow colors out Dark Side of The Moon style. Was the light source the issue? Or the geometry of primitives?
I think it's more the light than the geometry.
I'm going to buy this anyway, but there is this version of Gescon II which doesn't say upgrade (and looks like it's a full version in the description), but it says it requires the original Gescon in the "Required Products" section. I'm assuming that's an error, but just want to double check. https://www.daz3d.com/gescon-ii-constructive-solid-geometry
That is the full, stand alone version, correct?
I have Gescon I, so I am thinking about buying the Gescon II upgrade. What is the DS version required to use the upgrade? I currently use DS 4.16.0.3. Will the upgrade work with this version or will I need to update DS to 4.22? (Ive noticed 4.16.0.3 renders much faster than later versions of DS, which is why I am hesitant to upgrade).
Yes, you're right. The link is of the full, stand-alone version.
It should work with 4.16 (or any 4.5+ version). However, I tested it only in 4.21 and 4.22.
