Galactic Force for Genesis 2 Male(s) and Female(s) [Commercial]

I don't usually post a product thread anymore because I can't think what to write besides what is in the Product Description, but I made several group shot renders to show off the suit, which took ages to render, and ended up not using them in the promos. So, to keep them from going to waste, I thought I would share them here.

I tried to include every major morph, including the Gen4 and Gen5 Legacy Shapes and a few 3rd Party shapes. As you will see in the pictures below, that's a lot of shapes! Both suits and boots include Expand All morphs so that if you fit the uniform to a shape not included, you can avoid poke-through (hopefully in all cases :) )

I want to thank Lyoness for contributing the Black and Yellow LY-10 textures. She did a great job and it's one of my favorites.

Here are a few more of the group renders. I also included one render of gypsyangel's Parisa with the cutouts and trim made invisible to show a sexier side of the bodysuit. Unfortunately, I hadn't originally planned to hide the leg panels, so the boots must stay on when hiding the panels or it just doesn't look right :( The red texture is not the one included in the product, but another of my shaders. This shows how you can use other shaders in your library and they look great.

    I had a question.

There is a shot of a sleeveless male variant and the female with the missing side panels. Are those actually included options? Are they on both male and female suits? Ok, admittedly, I'm much more interested in a sleeveless tanktop.

Both uniforms come with a preset to turn off the neck/collar area, and the male version included a preset to turn off the sleeves as well. The side panels or leg panels don't have presets, but it is a simple matter of turning down the opacity in the surfaces tab

Are the sleeves a separate material zone so they could be removed by changing the opacity in surfaces?

I am posting two renders showing the different material zones on each uniform. Any of these zones can be textured differently and the opacity turned off to hide them. Keep in mind, just turning the opacity to 0% might still give you highlights and reflections on the "invisible" part, so I have included a preset to hide the collar zone (and sleeves for the male). I would recommend applying the presets, then copying that zone onto any other parts you want hidden.

By that render it looks like the female suits arms are one piece with the torso and legs?

I like your group photo renders Slosh. Nice to see how the suit looks on every body morph. I picked the set up and can't wait to play! =-)

yes, the female uniform is different. No tank top possibilities on that one. Though, if you have the G2M clone for G2F, or the crossover plugin, the male uniform fits very well on G2F and you could do the tank top that way.

Thanks, SereneNight. I've been dying to show this to you for a few weeks now. Every time I saw your SciFi thread, I would think about it. I hope they suit your needs (pun completely intended)

Very much So! This kind of outfit is sorely needed and very versatile.=-) I hope it sells really well so we can get a texture expansion with some gloves and gear too. =-) I'm lovin the detailed lines, and the ability to hide the arms.

That's beautiful Slosh I could not resist. I guest a must have for a lot of sci fi "everyday" scene.

Definitely going to come in useful! (Tried turning off the side panels in the boots, but that just looked weird.)

A very nice pair of suits, and I like the style difference between the G2F and G2M versions, but... here's a couple of test renders I just did, with a single UE2 light in each (park image, max quality). Apart from the green suit, which looks nicely cloth-like, are the others supposed to look like freshly polished leather? I'm not seeing the same level of glossiness in the store page pics.

It definitely does come down to lighting on that. The red suit is supposed to be very shiny, but you can easily lower that by turning down reflection (or turn it off altogether). The black suit has not been that shiny in any of my test renders, and it was made by a fellow PA, so I'm not positive that the glossiness was intentional or not.

In my test renders and in the final promos, I used UE2 and 3 distant lights in a 3 point lighting setup. I recreated your lighting environment (UE2 with park image at max quality) I didn't change any intensity settings or rotate the skydome and here is what I got... I hope the gloss doesn't turn you off from the uniforms.

You know what I love even more than getting a new product? It's getting the inspiration to create a new piece from it! So... here's one I put together using the Galactic Force suit bundle, starring Brodie and a slightly younger Belle using Growing Up morphs.

The suit behaves really nicely even on maxed youth morph, which is great, and the material zones give me plenty of options when using it in my scenes. With this and the upcoming GSuit2 I'll be set nicely for future sci fi and heroic renders. Thanks Slosh.

That is a really dynamic and exciting render, HoF. And as for treats, wait until Christmas :) That's all I'm going to say.

No, not a problem. It's just that I'm still not really all that good at setting up lighting. Okay, apply nose to grindstone and try again, maybe I'll have better luck with a Luxus scene.

I am seeing a difference between the 3delight render in the current Beta public version and the release version.   Any help here?

    Post edited by Ostadan on
  • Any errors in the log? I don't know which shaders the set uses, but most 3delight shaders (except AoA SSS shader) put files in the application folder. If this set uses a sahder that requires a separate install, and you haven't isntalled since first installing a DS4 beta, then those fiels may not be there for the beta and 3delight will drop back to the default shader.

Ah, I'd forgotten about this outfit until I started getting notifications. I'm going to have to see how it fits to genesis 3.

  • OstadanOstadan Posts: 1,125

It uses omniUberSurface.  The problem appears to be related to the (unnecessary?) reflection map property.  When I turn this off, the results are very close to the 4.9 release version result.  I still should file a bug report, though; consistency in results is, I think, important.

  • It is of course possible that this is the result of a fix to a bug in previous versions, but if so a reply to your report should tell you.
