Any way of saving settings for Strand Based Hair to go with poses?

Hi all, I'm just getting back to working on my unicorn SBH for the horses and frustratingly can't find any way to save the hair styling for all the different poses. I don't know if there is something I'm missing or do we have to save multiple copies and then delete > re add a new one for when the poses change? With working with long manes and tails the styling varies a lot on the pose and horses are big, animated movers so it would look silly to keep the same style for standing still vs jumping vs galloping etc.
