Subsurface Scattering not working G8F?

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong and haven't got the right box checked. Whatever I do, SSS doesn't work. Also, there is no "SSS Amount" slider or "SSS Mode" option??
There is a backlight with lighting mode set to scene only for testing currently.
Using Jacqueline 8.1, have loaded SSS in the Materials>Iray content library panel. As you can see by her ears, no SSS is going on and if I turn it on/off under surfaces>skin nothing changes.

  • So I loaded a second Jacqueline and SSS works fine on her! Problem is, the broken one has all my custom morph settings and shaping that took hours so... not sure what to do sad

Save a shaping preset so you don't lose it.

Select the character you want to save

    File>Save as>Shaping preset

Then you can apply that preset to a new Jacqueline,or any 8.1 for that matter.

Should work on 8.0 figures as well.

You can also apply the broken Jacqueline's shape a new Jacqueline in the same scene.
    Select the broken one.
    Click "Edit" on the toolbar.
    Edit>Copy>Copy Figure

    Select new Jacqueline.
    Click "Edit" on the toolbar.
    Edit>Paste>Paste Figure Shape

Studio will appear to freeze while it reshapes the new Jacqueline.

Starting with different base characters can give different results.Experiment with this sometime if you want to see what it looks like.

Sometimes Studio just doesn't work right and requires a restart to get it going again.

I have strange issues when I've been running it for hours on end.Lights don't work, cameras won't work, all kinds of strange things.

A restart normally gets it sorted out and back going right again.

Thank you, that is a very useful tip. It did seem to help to transfer the morphs to a new figure. I've no idea why that old figure suddenly broke like that!
