Certificate: imagine it is authoratively signed (like, with fancy seals from the city office or whatever) a proof of "Facebook Family Lives in This Building Named splashdns.fbops.com".
Your browser, however, just found out that the actual name of the building is "complexsausage.com" (or whatever), and is pointing out this error to you. It is basically asking -- "hey, are you gonna trust this oddball family, 'cause name of the building does not match what the certificate says".
DNS -- the thingamagic which translates numbers to common names (so 1.2.3.4 is more easily remembered as complexsausage.com -- example completely fictional) and vice versa. When this stops working properly, it messes up your internet connectivity, unless your computer still remembers "oh hey went there some five hours ago, record has not expired yet, let's see if it still works".
Nerds: Explaining Things.
ZOOM! right over me to.
EDIT: Zoom number two. As long as Ski understands were all good.
Does anyone know how to stop the daz render from getting red and blue squares on it?
Please do ellaborate :)
ok, Mark Zuckerberg stuffed something up there then!
I bet http://www.complexsausage.com is a porn site though ;-P
OH! You wanted to know how? Silly me... :cheese: That's Deep Shadow artifacts. Some times moving the camera just a tad works. The best is to use all Raytraced Shadows, no artifacts in them.
LOL sounds like. haha
Damn... Deep shadow maps ar what is keeping my rendering fast :(
She did. :P
Jaderail - Look at this... My scene's coming together :cheese:
Looks Great, If it was Cave man type temp hide huts I'dd hit you over the head and steal it. I use DEEP for test renders then switch to RT when I can just walk away and let it render Spyro. Like when I'm cooking or watching a movie.
Yeah, I think I'll do that. Becides It's gotta be bigger to reduce the blurring effect. I'll be adding the tribe peoples shortly... I think I'm gonna make one of those ladies that carries a basket or vase on her head... They're very skilled you know.
Yes. I've seen it in real life. Freaked me out just how easy she made it look. Very cool.
yeah, somewhere to rest your beer while she is . . . .
LMAO!!!!
MA!!! Wendy's doing it again!!
ROFLMAO!!
It works out so well your comment and your straight faced avatar!
Hi . Mind if I hang out?
Oh the bag?.
Yea I got this pimple and....
I know a few who could use that beauty tip! ;-P
you got DT's hdri set yet?
I am wating for the full sized hdri Carrara update but meanwhile with one of the background jpg's and 2 shadow catch planes for ground and table.
....OK this is so stupid I almost have to have it.
Green Bay Packer Toaster
[clicky]
...the downside of raytacing though is it is more memory intensive than shadow mapping. I rarely use raytracing in Daz Studio anymore as it usually is a quick trip to a render crash even with the ray depth set to "1".
However, on my old system, for some reason the Firefly render engine in PP2010 seems to work fine with raytraced shadows.

I have a high end system and the new version of daz would crash my system on renders among another issue i won't get into . But instability is among one of the reasons I uninstalled it.
I kind of feel bad for Daz. they are trying their best to develop a product that they want to be cutting edge, and it has, or had so many bugs to fix and top that off with a new web site, its must be a nightmare for them. but some of the decisions they have made have left me scratching my head why they did it? I hope they have a quick recovery from this fee-asgo. Shit like this can really hurt a company.
But the good thing for me is I still have Daz3 and Poser which work great for me. :)
here is something fun. this is a old haunted castle animation I did last year. I hope this will get people in the mood to start creating Halloween pictures :) maybe even inspire to have a Halloween contest :0

...oy, that's right.
...and that means before you know, it will soon be time for the Monster Mash Bash Freebie Challenge again
Heh. Whereas I use raytraced shadows all of the time. Sure, eats memory. But that's why I got 16 GB of it. Eat away, DAZ Studio. Om nom nom nom.
Wow... Does that mean that lagging is little an issue on your pc?
When the render is REALLY intense, and it has chowed down something like half of available memory (about 15 GB after Windows has booted, so down to 7.5 GB or so), it starts to lag, no ifs and buts about it. This is why I set up the scene during the day, and leave it rendering at night, after I've gone to bed.
Hah!! The soundtrack was pretty good, but I imagined this while going down the corridors...
Edit. Yeah, and this is pretty funny (not by me, btw).
