Backing up Content Directories

Hi, I was about to install DS 4.7 . . . and then I thought maybe I should back up my DS4.6 Content Directories first.
Sooooo . . . I went to content Database Maintenance, clicked the "Export User data" button . . . okay, fine, I am assuming that said data will remain in it's original place and export a COPY of my DB. Right? (1)

But where is the exported data file so that I can save it elsewhere? and how do I reload it? (2)

I am on a Mac running 10.9.
I vaguely recall reading a posting here on how to do this years ago but cannot find it in searches now. Since I stuffed up recently by NOT stopping my DB Manager before cloning my content drive (it took over a week to rebuild the directories! Ouch!) I would like to know how to back up and reload my Content DB the right way in future !
Thanks

I think you will need someone who uses a Mac to give you all the info you need, but on my Windows PC, PostgreSQL data is written to :
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\Runtime\Support I assume that it will be somewhere similar on a Mac?

The file itself is called 'UserData_1.DSX' and it may be quite large depending on how many Categories you have created. This file ONLY holds information on Categories that you have created, not all of the Metadata. I think you would need to copy the entire Support folder to get all of the Metadata.

If you in DAZ Studio go to the Menu Help->Troubleshooting->View Log File...,

DS will for your convenience write out the full path to the UserData.dsx file to which it made the backup.
It is usually sits in the Library in "DS Library"->Runtime->Support but if you have multiple content locations it's good to know which one.
