You have to buy an Interactive License for content specifically meant for Unreal Engine??

It's nice to see that DAZ offering content for Unreal Engine but disappointing that you're still expected to pay for an Interactive License. You can get similar content in the Unreal Marketplace that is already licensed for gaming!

Agreed. It's a bit counterproductive, to say the least.
Not everybody uses Unreal to make games, you can make images or videos with it too. So having the option not to pay for interactive license if you don't need it makes sense IMO.
It also enables you to pay for the license later when you're ready to distribute the game rather than when development starts.

No, but pricing in the Epic Marketplace depends more on the quality of individual products imho. Some are expensive, but then the quality usually is stellar, the packs include some form of animations, extensive blueprints or something similar. If you wait for sales, you often can get pretty awesome modular stuff for just a few bucks in my experience.
!00% agree that the Interactive License is somthing that should be included. It is so funny how even on the Daz to Blender info page it say "it's Free", then they want you to buy the Interactive License. lol
The bridge is free, Daz never claimed using the products in a game was...
@ColinFrench the prices in the Unreal Marketplace are pretty reasonable and stuff goes on sale pretty regularly. Some of the content includes more than just meshes / textures such as blueprints (code), animations, etc. So if you buy a character or character pack there then there's often animations or sound effects included. For example if you buy a dragon you might get some basic animations and stomping sounds, etc.
Most of the content in the DAZ store is top notch stuff and I do buy when the ILs are on sale for $5. Some of it transfers over to Unreal and some of it doesn't quite work as well.
Characters generally aren't as "modular" out of the box (some products can mix bodies and clothing, most cannot), but if we count Daz base price + interactive license, many items are cheaper in Unreal's marketplace (and already setup and properly optimized for Unreal), and those that are more expensive usually have extra perks, as others have discussed. Unreal also has monthly freebies, and while this months aren't terribly impressive, you can get some nice stuff that way (and none of it is decade old garbage you wouldn't waste space on even as a freebie).
