Reality 4 not loading geometry/mats issue

Yay for Reality 4, looking forward to working with this.
Today I also upgraded from Daz 4.6 to 4.7, so I can't pin-point this problem to Daz or Reality.
From any existing .DUF scene file the Lights and Camera are loaded but nothing shows in the materials box which indicates no geometry is loaded. It's pretty instant load time, so its skipping the major loading job.
If I throw a few props into a new scene + sunlight + camera, all objects load!
If I save the scene and reload, it also works.
Just nothing from a scene I created before today.
Tried re-saving a 4.6 created scene in the new 4.7, no luck.
Edit: Anything I add to an old scene will get loaded...
Do I have to replace all Reality 2.5 props with 4 props? I can't find the RealityPortals which are in my old scenes.
Is there a Reality Log file to look at? Nothing in the Daz log file for this operation.

Same problem here. I will try removing the old Reality file in before running Reality again, it is a hidden file in the scene list. But, can't do that until after work.
I am having this issue too -- existing scenes do not show any materials in Reality. Only newly added materials show up. I did have an older version of Reality installed -- is there a way to force Reality to regenerate scene data?
Thanks
I found Dresdenskin on rendo has a workaround for this:
"I loaded a pre-designed scene, then went to the Daz Studio "SCENE" tab and deleted each item, then did "UNDO" (CTRL-Z) before opening REALITY. All the surfaces were available to edit after doing this. The first time I did it, Daz Studio crashed, but the second and each subsequent time I tried, it worked."
I've send a note to Paolo about it :)
Deleting and undo-ing works for me as well.
User manual on log files: "Reality logs some events into a text file called Reality_plugin_Log.txt which is stored in your Documents folder." Not checked it yet.
While I'm here, the word "Emitter" in nowhere in the PDF user manual. I mention that because in the 100 or so surfaces imported several have the Emitter flag set and get turned into lights in LuxRender. I have a lamp shade object with materials called "cable", "glass", "plastic", "shade" and "stand". All are set to glossy and Emitter = Y. I can see the option to "Convert to light" but there is no reverse toggle. I can convert to another material but Emitter stays on. No idea how to turn off an emitting surface!
Thanks for replies so far
Some vendors use ambient settings and Reality picks that up as an emitting material.
Here's a screenshot where you can enable it.
Also, when you enabled it, save it as a preset (Right click and then "save as").
next time you'll be using this set, it won't behave as an emitter anymore :)
You're a star, thanks for pointing that out.
I missed the settings in the lower part of the screen as I didn't see the scroll bar, new UI and all that ; )
Cheers!
In regards to the old R2.5 data, I've been deleting this and saving the scene as it's own R4 version, as I still use 2.5 quite frequently. R4 doesn't read the 2.5 data/shader settings anyway, but I like having both if an old scene or asset crashes in R4 and not 2.5 for bug-chasing.
Wow! This information was really helpful to an otherwise puzzling situation.
:)
Apparently in the latest build of R4 the feature of turning materials with ambient setting into light emitters has been removed. There are far too many shaders that use ambient for more subtle effects than actual glowing, so it turned out to be more of a curse than a blessing.
This build is now available for download at DAZ, I now hear. It's 4.0.4.18, you should see it in your orders/downloads.
Thank you all for this post. Deleting and undoing delete still works for the materials for Daz3d, Realtiy to Luxrender.
I purchased Reality and it worked for a few monthes, my computer crashed and after recovering it I never got Reality 4 working good again. Even when Reality was working well it would take so long to Render hours my computer wood Freeze and then crash, I have always had problems with Reality 4 actually all of there versions Reality seemed glichy at times. To be Honest Reality sucks for me. Keyshot 6 Pro with ZBrush 4R7 is far Superior in terms of speed and Render quality. Maya, Cinima, Rhino and 3D Studio Max with Keyshot Renders great also and looks so realistic. My Reality days for going crazy are over.
