Are there any geometries that Mirror Geometry canNOT mirror?

...sadly yes, and it's the denim jacket in dForce Urban Streetwear for G8M. The buttons were not mirrored, which makes the result the same as using the x-scale -100% trick that other fellow members taught me (and that's the reason why I bought Mirror Geometry to try my luck). I followed the instructions but still failed, maybe it's my problem... much appreciated if anyone can share how to mirror clothing with buttons using Mirror Geometry

  •  If buttons and buckles on outfits are separate geometry attached with rigid following then they're not going to be affected by editing geo on the jacket. You need to mirror them individually or simply reattach them by hand this time in the right places.

Yikes, but I kinda knew it. But I don't exactly know how to do it e.g. how to de-rigid follow the buttons.
  •  Unparenting the buttons from the old follow nodes should be enough, but you will have to create new nodes for reattaching with the geometry editor. That's the time consuming part.

Noted. Will see how it goes. Thank you!

Just an update that I got a quick fix for the buttons: negate the y-rotate and z-rotate values of EVERY button after using Mirror Geometry.

A further update: I can only save the jacket with modified buttons as a scene subset, other presets will only keep the buttons while the jacket itself being deleted

Might be a silly question. Do you have the clothes fitted and your character selected when you save as a wearable preset?

Nope, unparented and then deleted everything else. Then the funny thing: only the buttons were saved as wearable preset lol! I only succeeded in preserving the mirrored jacket together with the adjusted buttons when I saved them as scene subset. Should have been my problem.

I did the same thing the first time I saved a wearable preset. What you did was save the buttons as a wearable preset for the jacket.
  • To properly save a wearable preset it needs to be saved whilst loaded on the figure. This setting never saves the figure highest in the hierarchy tree. Anything rigged is considered a figure so it did skip the jacket (a figure) and saved everything lower in the hierarchy.

    Thanks! Will try again!
