Looking for DH2 fits for old horse armor sets

Looking for DH2 fits for old horse armor sets. Most times fitting a saddle made for another or older horse to DH2 isn't too hard, but some elements like the leg armor from the Spine Bender made for mil horse. Anyone know of any existing 'fits' or willing to make some?

If you want to use a millenium horse item on DH2 then I recommend using the free clone created by CauriB, which allows you to autofit DH1 items onto DH2.

    Download is here:

    Thank you :)

Not sure how clones work, but hopefully the included readme will guide me.

How do I use RTE files? Where do I put this? The instructions in the Readme lead me to disabled sites.

I know it's not a helpful answer, but you might better off just going with this newer set - https://www.daz3d.com/guardian-horse-armor-for-daz-horse-2

Those older sets are usually quite...simple. To put it mildly.

Have you never used auto-fit? Auto fit needs clones to work. Once you have the mill 1 horse clone installed for DH2 you should be able to fit Mil1 Horse clothing onto DH2 in the same way as Genesis clothing can autofit onto G8F.

RTE utility is used to ensure this clone is only available to the owners of Millenium Horse 1. It can be downloaded from here: http://www.rtencoder.com/files/rtencoder-201.zip

I have that set ... It's too fantasy. I need something more armor-like.

    No ... I've never used auto-fit.

The Spine Bender and Astral set seems more fantasy to me, but whatever floats yer boat! I just think you'll be disappointed once you try updating the textures to Iray and/or applying shaders and see that there's not much to it, unless you plan to do some overpainting in post.

Personally, I'd be looking to do a kitbash between the set I posted above and the Dark Knight set. Mixing and matching stuff and cutting out parts you don't like with the geometry editor can create some amazing custom sets, even with clothing!

Since I do own the Astral and Spine Armor (although I don't think I have used it before), then I can at least show you what it looks like after autofitting onto DH2.

All the pieces actually auto-fitted reasonably well, except for the strange spikey chest piece, which was a mangled mess when the horse was posed. I have left that off the image below. The only tweaking I did with the shader was increase the glossy roughness on all the pieces. I could have improved the look with proper iray shaders, but there did not seem a lot of point as I know you mostly use 3DL.

I used Knightly Barding armor for DH2 in this render and applied  one of Mech4D's metallic shaders for a more shining  plain look.

Thanks for showing me what it looks like with autofit ... It looks awfully clunky. Looking at that, I think I will make each piece a single prop then fit each leg manually. Thanks for the visual aid. :)

I've been eyeballing that shader. Thanks for showing it to me :)
