Shift an Animated Character

How do I shift a character so the character stays shifted during an animation.

I want to have two characters dance in sync, but the dance has them in exactly the same spot, one over the other. How to shift one back for the whole animation, or to the side for the whole (duration of the) animation.

You should be able to just click on the character and move them wherever you want. I don't know if you're using an aniblock and, if so, it moves the character back to the zero position, if that's the case just bake the aniblock to studio keyframes and delete the X or Z axis from the parameter section of the character and then move them at frame 0 and that'll work too.

Parent each figure to a null.

I used aniblocks but saved them as poses. I'll removee the x parameter.

Tried to remove the x or z keys. Select keys, delete. The animation went crazy with the figure jumping all over the place. Was only able to do it once...then the "delete" option was greyed. Now can't delete it.

If I selected and deleted the z translation, it was fine until I then moved the character back or forward (z shiften it). Then it went haywire, moving up and down and all over the place.

Can't delete x or z translation item (on hip). That deletes the entire character.

Is there a way to edit them to move them all a certain amount? Could do that with Poser.

Tried it again. Selected hip, z translation. Selected all item keys. Deleted keys. Selected figure...moved back z. Set that as a key frame. Second frame, the figure moved to the original position in the animation.

Tried it again. Same procedure as last time when it shited back to original position.

Select hip, properties, z translation. Selected all item keys. Deleted item keys. Played animation - it was fine. Selected character - moved back with z translation dial. Played animation - figure flies all over the place - above ground, below ground, way forward, way back, left and right - all over the place.

OK! Parenting to an invisible obnject worked. Can move the object to shift the figure (now parented to the object) to new positions - shift back or fiorward or left or right.

    Thanks for the answers.
