DAZ Studio in Fish-Eye Lens Horror!

Hey folks - DAZ newbie here.  I seem to have got my viewport in a twist.  It's gone all fish-eye lens, and the perspective view is suddenly very distant from point zero.  (1) What did I do?  (2) How do I undo?  Many thanks. cool

    1) Camera Settings. Most likely "frame width" and "focal length".

    2) Click the little "up arrow" icon on the right side of the viewport. It's on the bottom of the stack It resets the perspective view point.

Many thanks, but sadly that ain't it.  There must be some tutorials on this, will go hunting.  Thanks again! :)

Did you find and try the reset button for the view (irt works with all cameras or views, whatever is being used)? Does it persist if you do File>New (saving your work if desired, of course)?

Thanks - reset button found and tried.  Just tried your idea with File>New, but no luck.

  • This is what I'm getting, and I've no idea how to get out of this mode!  Eek!

  • Also, I can't get rid of the Aspect Window, which first popped up after I loaded a complete scene.  I know about show/hide the Aspect Frame, but you still get the 'affected area'.  Could anyone at least tell me how I change it out of the 2.1 aspect ratio?  (Bear of Very Little Brain)

Ah, it may be a consequence of the  aspect ratio - which you can chnage in render Settings' Editor tab by picking another preset or by turning off the condstrain option under the size boxes. To get rid of the frame, open the option menu (the lined button at top-right of the Viewport) and unceck the Show Aspect frame command.

  • Go to Render Settings > General > Dimension Preset and you can choose from a lot of presets. Below this slider you will also find the Pixel Size (for your rendered image) and the Aspect Ratio of the active viewport. When you save a scene it is saved in as well and the next time you open DAZ the last aspect ratio is still there. Have fun!

Brilliant!  You fixed it!  Thank you so much.  Think it must have happened when I loaded the 'Ancient Walls' preset scene.  And now I know how to play with the aspect ratios.

Thank you so much, Richard.  Between you and April, you got me out of it.  That was driving me bonkers.  smiley
