Peppermint Poser Companion?

I just bought Peppermint for Brodie 6 but the Poser Companion file only has Manifest.dsx and Supplement.dsx files in it, no Poser content. The file is only 447 bytes, and the Product Library Page says it should be 447 bytes. The Readme says there should be a Poser Companion but does not list the files that should be in it.

Should Peppermint have a Poser Companion? Gingersnap for Belle 6 has got one.

The product page certainly indicates that there should be PoserCFs, and lists a CR2 file. Please open a support ticket to report this to DAZ.

Yes, he should definitely have a proper Poser companion file, so something got messed up. I will let FWArt know so he can pester the powers that be.

That's odd, they showing up in my library and in my DIM, may be worth checking with customer service as it should be there, maybe there was an issue putting it properly into your account. very confusing.

The file is there but there isn't anything in it. I usually do manual installs but I tried again with DIM. After installing I looked at the zip file that DIM had downloaded and all it contained was Manifest.dsx and Supplement.dsx, no runtime folder and no Poser content.

I don't have him in my order history to check if the installer is messed up for me as well.

Side note, I love how he looks with just the base Genesis.. I didn't try that when I was doing my clothing promos. I think I'm going to use him with Brodie's body without Brodie's head..he still looks young but more masculine that way.

Doh, I guess I shouldn't look at things at the end of the day, make mistakes that way. You're absolutely right, there is nothing in those files. Though I just looked at the file I uploaded and I definitely got them all in that file. I also know it was tested. So will have to try and find out who can update that for me, but like I said, in the meantime feel free to PM me and I give you a link to my own original copy.

OK, update from DAZ... will be added in the next upload batch tonight, so if you try to download the files tomorrow morning, it should all be fine :)

A late test/release session? These things happen. I did some all day/night programming sessions in my time, I'm sure after a certain time I was doing more harm than good :red:

I don't mind waiting for the official update. I keep DSON in hand for when I really want to use Genesis in Poser but mostly I keep Genesis for Daz Studio and stick to Mike, Vicky and friends in Poser.

BTW I did enter a helpdesk ticket like Richard Haseltine suggested and they said they are raising a bug report, so you might be hearing from them as well.

Nah.. what Fred submitted was right 'cause I have a copy that works great, it was just a file building error. To err is human, to really mess up takes a computer.

Thanks, I've got the new file now with the stuff in it.

One minor other point. The readme on the documentation centre page still doesn't show the where to find the Poser companion files in the Poser library. Not a problem for me, I just look in the zip file, but it might confuse some less experienced users. If this file was generated from the original zip it needs to re-generated from the new one.

oh ok, cool, thanks for letting me know, I never look at the readme's so didn't even know it's not in there, but will see if it can get added.
hope you have fun with those two, and you know Gen2 works amazing in poser, though if you do really start using them in there, you may find you end up not using V4 anymore. and just in case, if you ever want any old V4 clothing to fit on her in poser, let me know I have a tut for that on how to do it :)

Yeah I've been very pleased with my renders of G2 in Poser, helps that I have FWArt around to make all the beautiful characters that work so well in it. =)

I haven't tried Genesis 2 in Poser yet. I did try original Genesis and found that he/she worked well but my computer struggled a lot more than it did with Generation 4 figures. My computer is fairly powerful (i7 running at 3 point something GHz, 12GB RAM) but it is a bit old.

I might be interested in the clothing tutorial but I need to do some experimenting first, mainly to see if my PC can handle Genesis 2 in Poser. I think you can buy Genesis support for Wardrobe Wizard but I haven't looked to see if PhilC has done it for Genesis 2 yet.

DS does a pretty good job converting a lot of things, since you know how to use it try that first.

Well I have to be honest, I wasn't really planning on trying Gen2 in poser since I didn't get on too well with Gen1 in there, but I have to say DAZ really worked hard on making it work nicely in there and to be honest, I often find it's even faster than what V4 was. Of course all depends on the amount of datas you have in the base, but I found it still works nice and fast, especially when you turn the Sub-D off while posing etc, so definitely worth giving it a try one day, though you may not go back to V4 at all anymore lol
and yep clothing tut always around if you need it, or how to use HD in poser etc. just let me know and i'll get you a copy of it
