Preserving surface maps when converting to obj format. (Altered topic)

Ive been trying to figure this out but im lost. I select the surfaces that I want to load a UV set to, select "Load UV Set" in the surfaces tab context menu and then navigate to my data folder to find my data/daz 3d/Genesis 8/female/UV sets. I want to load the base female uv set which is there in .duf form but it is unrecognizable by my computer and cant be selected.
Anyone know how this is supposed to work?
EDIT: Originally titled "How do you load a UV seet", I quickly realized that my topic was vague and decided to change gears. Now I am going to concentrate on how to preserve the surfaces of a G8 when converting that figure to .obj format.

You have to have the exact same geometry in .obj format, as far as I know. What are you trying to do?
What figure are you trying to load that on? It's a set of UVs for G8F, you can't use that to add G8F UVs to another figure if that's what you're trying to do.
Im trying to load a uv map to a geometry shell.
How do you convert the map to .obj format?
nm - topic changed!
I changed topic because my previous question was vague and going nowhere. Now im trying to figure out how to preserve the surface maps of a g8 figure when converting it to an obj format. What I see happening is that the diffuse maps tend to be saved but that is it. Im wondering what options I need to select in order to keep all of the g8 surface maps (diffuse, bump, normal, etc) when converting to obj format.
Also, the eyes tend to lose all of their maps when going to obj.
The OBJ materials (in the MTL file) are very basic, they can't encompass all the properties in most Daz Studio materials.
Thanks Richard.
Back to the drawing board I go.
