Keep Up Your Streak!

algovincianalgovincian Posts: 2,636

I bought the bundle yesterday, and the bundle today (plus additional items), but I just got this banner:

Keep Up Your Streak!

Because you made a qualifying purchase of $25 yesterday, your exclusive streak discount for next week is currently at 5%. Spend $25 today to bring that total up to an EXTRA 10% OFF next week!

Excludes Gift Cards, Memberships, and New Releases. Discount will be available next week from 5/25 at 12 AM and 5/29 at 12 AM.

I should have already qualified for today. Anybody else seeing this?

I am tired of trying to continually walk a tightrope for sales.  Could we just have some easy method for picking out our stuff, without having to waste time putting things in the cart and taking them back out until you find the magic combination???!!!

I noted the message stated "Yesterday", so I don't expect to see an incremental "Keep Up Your Streak!" message until sales for day 2 of qualifying purchases is over.

I see what you're saying. Telling me to spend $25 today in order to extend the streak (after I had already done so hours ago) made it seem like it didn't count for some reason.

Yes, it is just about yesterday and doesn't take account of any spending you may have made today, it doesn't indicate that today's $25+ has been missed. Sorry for any palpitations it may have occasioned.

I gave up long ago trying to follow these ever more contrived sales gimmicks. Clearly it must be good marketing because people spend a lot of time here on the forum explaining the intricacies to each other but it is not for me. I don't buy something if it is dependent on another purchase or if I need to stack offers, etc. At least with Fastgrab I know the discount and I know it will be there for at least a couple of days.

Me too.  I'd rather just get a straight-up discount on GC, which I convert to store credit before making my purchases.  If I know I'm going to make a lot of purchases, it's better to do all of that during a sale, so that I'm effectively getting more than a 20% or whatever discount, and so I would.

A sale might be the reason I buy "now" some things I was already planning to buy "later", but it's never a reason for me to buy if I wasn't already planning to do so.

But it's been a couple years now since I've made any significant purchases anyway.  I'm getting to the point where I can use time to my benefit and just buy nearly a whole generation's catalog once a new generation comes out, and saving thousands of dollars doing that during a sale.  Maybe one day...

Have people still been getting these emails?  I've spent $25 on each of three days but never received any notifications afterwards.  I'm worried that this might be another promotion that turns sour for me.  Do I just cross fingers and pray for a banner?

I would put in a ticket now. Getting in touch and getting things fixed takes time. Also, CS doesn't have a record of what was on sale when, I guess because the sales are so crazy, so proving that what you wanted to buy should have been at X price when your discount *should* have been active can be really tricky. Doesn't hurt to be proactive. I would just tell them that's why you're nervous. And of course, be polite!

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with putting in a ticket when there isn't actually a problem yet...

But I am curious to know if people are getting those emails or not.  If no one is, then there's no issue yet

  • Email? I am not getting "streak" emails.

I get the orange banner reminders about the streak.

I've just got a banner confirming my purchases. Good!

I keep browsing over this thread and seeing "Give up your steak"... and it's makes me frickin' hungry every time I misread that.

Ah, so it has to be consecutive days ('streak' makes sense now). Spending over $25 on 2 days out of 3 doesn't help. Guess I was buying stuff anyway so even 5% is a nice bonus.

Nothing in the ads to say "consecutive". The wording was "for every day that you spent $25"

It's confusing when the word "streak" is used... some definitions of streak (especially when used as a noun) are:  "a consecutive series"  (such as a winning streak), or "a brief run" (as of luck).

After missing a day of spending $25, I gave up on the promotion since a streak is defined as a consecutive series, so missing a day of $25 purchases is an end of the "streak".

  • Just as there is a difference between real world Math and Daz Math, I suspect there are differences between real world American English and Daz English.

    ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

I spent over $25 on all 4 days, yet the last banner I saw said I was only due a 15% discount.  I want my 20%, I qualified for it and I'm going to be upset next week if they short me.  :(

  • I don't know that they sent any notice about the 4th day because that was the last day of the "streak"... they didn't NEED to send any more messages after that 4th day.

Those messages were more promotional than informative, IMO, so ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

I have put myself on a budget for Daz products. It is simply because the cost of living has increased by almost a third for some items. Simple economics, Food and Shelter are paid for before Fluff. And so when this promo started, if I had bought $25.00 worth of new products each day, by the time the sale started, I would have wiped out my remaining Daz Credit. I am hoarding my remaining amount for products I know have been submitted by PAs for approval. I have made purchases, but not everyday nor have I worried if I made that $25.00 bar. I have also put a number of items on my wishlist.

The promo also irked me, so I had no reason to want to fall in line.

Yup, looks like I got screwed over, today it's still showing my stacking discount as 15%.  I spent $25 all 4 qualifying days last week and earned the 20% stacking discount that was promised.  Jokes on me for trusting DAZ sales bs, this makes me very unhappy.

Put in a ticket. If you earned it, it must be yours.  Claim back the missing discount on anything you buy before the ticket is resolved.

  • BTW, just to confirm... the coupon is valid for as many purchases until the 29th as I want, right? I was pretty sure they didn't mention that the streak discount didn't apply for new releases, at least not on last week's sales pages, so I was a dissapointed when I read that on today's message with the coupon. Sadly I can't confirm that anymore because those pages aren't on the front site anymore and I'm open to the posibility that I did miss that anyway. But I'm pretty sure it was supposed to work for as many purchases during the streak discount duration since it was pretty much the main selling point for me. There is no specific mention of that on today's message and I'm not sure if "valid through Saturday, May 29" means exactly that so I just want to confirm and not waste it.

The New Releases was explicitly stated in the asterisked section. The exclusion of FastGrab was not and is very problematic.

A deal should state exactly what the deal is and not rely on external knowledge that is written on a separate unlinked page.

  • Ah, thanks. Yeah, that was my bad. And I take it the "for any purchases" does means "as many purchases I make during this period", right?

    Yes, it has unlimited uses.
