Problem with Lighting with Redhouse Christmas

mwokeemwokee Posts: 1,275

When I render my scene with the Redhouse Christmas, many elements within the scene have a crazy lighting problem. I thought maybe it was the lights I set up or the scene, so I ended up just choosing the Front Wall with no lights. The problem persists and it consistent. In my example below, the door lights up weird. It's the same with other elements, some render fine, others with the same weird effects.

Suggestions? Help?

Attached image shows how the door goes whacky.

Thanks!

This is an old product, from back in the days when it was Poser only. Adjusting your matreials may solve the problem if you are using DS.

The problem is the reflection maps. Select the affected surfaces (Surface Selection Tool, or use the list in the Surfaces pane) then:

Click the square beside Reflection colour and from the pop-up menu select None - this will remove the maps and give real reflections instead, which looks nicer but is slower (and may not work well depending on your viewing angle as empty spaces will reflect black).

    OR

Reduce the reflection Strength (which will reduce the blow out, but still apply a degree of the same look).

    Thanks, Richard, that was it.
