Using DS 4.7. There are tw settings I can't seem to find:

1) Where do i adjust the height and width of my window and the final render?

2) Where is the setting for changing material on an actor or a wardrobe piece?

Thanks very much.

Go to Render > Render Settings > General, and you can enter the size there in pixels.

The Surface Selection Tool (Alt+Shift+M) will select the surface for you, and it will then be highlighted in the Surfaces pane. Materials are usually supplied a MAT Pose files, and you will find them in the Poser Formats > Pose folder.

Is there any particular material that you are trying to change?

Thank you. But when I go to render | render settings in 4.7 without having personalized (using as downloaded) nothing shows up. Of course the top left menu bar shows render settings but really there's nothing there.

I also can't make changes in the DAZ Studio preferences menu.

    Appreciate your help!

    You are almost there :)

at the top of the pane you will see 3 tabs "Presets" "Editor" "Advanced"

If you select the 2nd tab marked "Editor" , you get more options.Click that one and then click "All" to see the settings.Hope this helps you.

I'm making my own textures and need to direct DS to the directory they have been saved to. I had help finding that setting in 4.6 but don't seem to be able to figure it out in 4.7

    Thanks again.

    You're welcome.

I'm still new to Daz Studio, but I can try to help you on your 2nd question. You can change the textures in the "Surfaces" tab. So,,select the item you want to modify in the Scene tab. Then click on the "Surface Selection Tool" on the top of the Daz Studio application Window. Now click on the "Surfaces" tab.On the top of the "Surfaces" pane there are 3 tabs "Presets" Editor" "Shader Baker" click the "Editor" tab to see the settings.Click the specific part of your item you want to change the textures for. Most textures are applied using the "Diffuse Color" setting,,so click the box to left of the color bar on "Diffuse Color" and a menu will pop up,,this is where you click "Browse" and tell DS where the new texture is.

    Thanks for the help icecrmn,

I'm really having trouble with this step.I thought I could go straight to a file and load it. Once loaded, adjust it as needed. I did check diffuse color, then uv map, etc. They all say 'browse' but my file (once loaded) doesn't show up at all. I did manage to do this with 4.6. Not sure what I'm missing.

    Thanks, again,

All you should need to do, is click on the Browse button as shown, navigate to the folder that holds your JPEG image, and it should load onto the selected surface.

Is this something that you have created yourself? Is it definitely UV Mapped? Does it have different texture zones?

Image files should be placed in a Runtime/Textures folder or sub-folder in a library that is mapped as Poser Format in DS's Content Directory Manager. That is standard way of doing it as they won't be visible in the Content Library tab which could cause confusion. If the images are not in a mapped library any reference to them in any DS's saved files will use absolute addressing instead of relative addressing meaning that if the image files ever get moved the references to them are broken.
