Missing Textures On Purchased Models

in The Commons
Hey Folks. I've recently purchased model that claim to have texture maps included yet I cannot locate them after install nor do they export when performing an export (FBX, etc.). I've attempted locating the local files via right clicking on the materials in the surfaces tab but there's nothing there in the local folder for the promised texture maps. Any ideas?

More informaation as th what Content you have bought, including a link to them in the Daz Store would be neccessary in order for anyone to help you.
Sorry about that. Here is one model. https://www.daz3d.com/clodovea-hd-for-genesis-8-female
I don't have that product.
But here is the file list http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/68777/file_list
How are you installing?
And what is it for files you are missing?
Was there more than one zip to download?
It's a single 286 Mb zip and it contains all the textures. She does not install with a character preset, nor does she show up as installed in Smart Content. Tried uninstalling, redownloading and reinstalling. Once installed, her shapes and mats are in the Content Library, though. Installed with DIM. Probably a Daz metadata problem. The product is complete.
While this is disappointing, she works fine
Ok, help me understand as I'm not a Daz expert. When I see that those maps are included I expect to literally see those maps in a folder in a standard format such as TIFF. Normals, height, etc. All that is in this zip file and inside of Daz is a DUF format which doesn't seem helpful to me. When I export the model with texture maps for use in another program in the pipeline, non of the expected maps are there other than basic albedo maps. Am I missing something?
The .duf files are presets that tell Daz Studio how to apply the maps (and settings) to get the intended look. You don't say what format you are exporting in, but most don't support the full range of properties. The maps will be in the content directory you installed to, in /Runtime/Textures/some folder - see the read me or installed files list for the exact location.
Like this folder?
This would been a lot easier if the question had been something like "Where can I find the textures for this product?" rather than "OMG FAIL MISSING TEXTURES!!!111"
With that said, Daz does fail at making readmes and file lists easy for customers to access.
Downloading the product manually fixed the issue. Thanks for the tip! I see it's more useful to set up your own texture map folders so you get all the maps included. Much better. :)
There are times that when I can't find the location something was stored in inside Daz.... that I eventually resort to opening the original zip file they came in so I can explore in there to see where it put the things I'm looking for.
Maybe if the main goal is to export everything to another app in a different format, but for normal DS use, it's not needed.
I just had a case where I had to manually install the textures from the zip because for some reason those files weren't installed when DIM unpacked the rest of it.
