Ronin are romanticized figures in themselves, as glorified "warriors" who were mostly wandering armed thugs.

Is there really such a thing as a "ronin outfit", anyway? Dress your character like a samurai, then make him look homeless.

    THIS^

Ronin was Masterless/lordless Samurai after all, and not the clean-cut overly honorable paragons of bushido that western media makes them out to be... it's why I loved Kurosawa movies so much, Take Sanjuro for instance, sure Sanjuro was a bit over the top, but watching the 3rd party characters in many of his movies and the world atmosphere was pretty realistic, as a youth, I too had an idealized/heavily romanticized view of feudal Japan...

    Boy was I a nieve know-it-not!
