Giselle lips not rendering

Can someone tell me why this is happening in my render of Giselle in DS 4.7?
I believe I'm using defaults.

Usually that means the AoA SSS shader has not compiled correctly. Got to your Preferences dialogue (under the Edit menu for Windows, the Apple menu for Macs) and note the location of the Temp folder, go theer and then into the Shaders\Brickyard folder and delete its contents, then try rerendering. You may need to reapply the materials preset - I've had mixed experience there.
Thanks, but there really isn't as far as I can tell a preferences menu under the Apple menu. (There is a System Preferences but that menu doesn't give me the access you describe) .... but after finding the directory: "note the location of the Temp folder, go theer and then into the Shaders\Brickyard folder and delete its contents, then try rerendering. " This 'did' work.
But I also discovered something interesting. If I load the file with all its basic parts - materials, etc., and render, it's fine. If I alter something (like lips shading) and render it goes astray.
So I went into the render menu "Engine" and changed from 3DDelight to Intermittent GL or Basic GL and did a quick perfect render.
