    Another vote for https://www.daz3d.com/prz-white-tie-outfit-for-genesis-8-males
It fits well. I even autofit it to females. It has become a PC+ item recently, but it is top notch quality from a top notch PA (Protozoon).

Yes this is also at the top of my list besides Desperado and Eldritch Seeker. Definitely top notch.

I am surprised these two did not make your list:

    https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-mi-autumn-outfit-for-genesis-8-males

    https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-mi-casual-outfit-for-genesis-8-males

They are dforce, but still look good even when not using dforce.

On the other hand, I had a poor experience with the fit of the MI Casual Outfit. It has NO supported Daz character body shapes. It has some included adjustment morphs, but they were not adequate in my experience. If you use the basic G8M body shape, you can get by. If you use another body shape that differs very much, it doesn't work well in my experience. Check the forum threads before investing in these products and test them with your characters before the 30 day return period expires.

Thanks for the review! I am a one trick pony LOL so if anything goes wrong I will just go ahead and hide every body part poking through...

Yeah, I love the MI clothes look, that's exactly the quality I want in the men's clothes I pick up lookswise, but I have had nothing but trouble in getting them to work with characters without excessive tweaking either with mesh grabber or turning parts off.

I would also LOVE an update to G8 and dForce with Eldritch Seeker. That would be day and date pickup for me. I'm sure it autofits just fine but in Daz, I have such a hard time weight painting for dForce. I can do it in Blender just fine, but for whatever reason I can never get it to work in Daz. It's such a great looking item and I'd use it so much. Maybe one day I'll pickup the G2 version and use it strictly in Blender.

I can tell you that Eldritch Seeker works just fine without dforce on G8, because it's from Luthbel after all (bowing down) and my character's body shape is somewhat stylized. And to my surprise autofitting it on G8 is way better than fitting the converted (using the awesome clothing converters from Sickleyield and RiverSoft) version.

Hiding body parts is not going to fix MI Casual Outfit. Here for example is how MI Casual Outfit loads on Floyd. Floyd is in the default pose. dForce does not help. Adjustment morphs were not adequate.

I have not seen it as bad as that, and I am sure I have used the outfit on bodies other than G8M. It is true that these outfits suffer from pokethough more than others, but I generally find the the included morphs and a smoothing modifier will fix them. Here is one I created for the airport pack of our game. I think the body was Edward, but I am not certain.

Hmm, seems to be something related to shoulder shape. I guess besides Floyd, Ollie, Mr Woo and Jazz can't wear this shirt.

I have always liked these G3M outfits:

I personally am not a fan of dforce male outfits. They don't fit my non standard character shapes, they lack details and don't work in certain poses. Pass. It's okay as a add on but not as substitution for fit.

my personal favorite is this set https://www.daz3d.com/summer-time-outfit-for-genesis-3-and-genesis-8-male-s

There is also a nice texture expansion I believe by sithlordsims on rendo

Oh I love everything Luthbel does, but I rarely do still renders. I do animation and so I want the dForce for the jacket to sway with him when he's walking or with the wind when he's standing on a rooftop talking to his informant. Glad to hear though that the autofitting to G8 is good, maybe I will then pick it up next time it's on sale and try to port it to Blender and see if it transfers as I'm not even sure if G2 stuff ports over through Diffeo or the bridge as I never even open up anything older than G8.

Todays' (almost yesterdays') dForce Casual Suit for Genesis 8.1 Males doesn't look too bad on the promos. To be honest, it's one of only two parts I seperately bought out of the bundle.

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,675

I didn't care for the fit of that suit. The drape of the shoulders is wrong and the tucked in sleeves seem oddly blouse-like. But everyone likes different things.

Sadly, we haven't gotten any contemporary wear from Luthbel for this generation. I would add to the list Urban Survivors HD for Genesis 2, Horror Survivors: Marius, & Galactic Smuggler, all of which autofit very well to later generations. My leading male character pretty much stays in Luthbel gear. Diana and Jones (Luthbellina) still works well (minus the boots).

Convergence Outfit (Mada) shirt and/or pants are a mainstay without the armor and boots. The pants are well-made, and the bottom has morphs. The shirt fits without mimicking the underlying musculature too much. Boardwalk Casual and Textures has a great shirt (try the black). Just a Man / Tie Dye has a good t-shirt. Alt Style Oufit and Textures are useful. Millennium Business Casual and Textures have pieces that I can kitbash. Casual Outfits are each a single rigged mesh, but they look great for a secondary character; Polygonal Miniatures said there were more of this ilk forthcoming, but that's been over a year ago.

For sci-fi, Yura's Ares for Genesis 3 Males (w/ custom shaders) and Space Merc Outfit do the job for me. BadKittehCo's Toolboi Winter Collection (Renderosity) autofits well for pit crew / worker / flight suit, and it still has no real competition AFAIK.

Of course, Fit Control is the best friend Daz clothing ever had, imo.

Yeah I also have most of the products you mentioned, they are good. I always kit bash so even if there is only one item in the whole outfit that I find potential I would still buy the outfit. I think autofit most of the time gives good result, except like you said the shoes (most of the time the feet poke through LOL). But Luthbel products are timeless classics and have definitely performed beautifully on G8 (including the shoes)!

Except for no opened/closed and/or dress/undress morphs. But the same is true for 90% of the PAs that make clothing.
