I'm new... to Poser... And I purchased Boris, downloaded DAZ3DIM (installer) and read... the directions... which makes no scene to me what so ever.

Nothing seems to work. I cant get it to install. Is there a way to install it manually?

Do I need the installer?

Does it actually work for Poser?

I could use some help... can someone point me in the right direction to install this to poser? Obviously, I am not understanding this install at all. sorry.

Thom

Boris doesn't have any Poser files, but also requires the Genesis 2 Male Starter Essentials. You could create the necessary PoserCFs for Boris through Daz Studio yourself, but there's no guarantee it'll work properly.

At the top of this page, click Help > Contact Us > Submit a Ticket
Select "Sales Support" for the department.
You can return it within 30 days of purchase for a full refund -- tell them whether you want store credit or a refund to your payment method.

Boris is mainly a morph product so it doesn't require poser companion files. You should be able to find the morphs dials for boris in the parameter tree. You can set the HD details by increasing the subdivision levels in the body actor right before you are ready to render (it will slow down the view port if you turn it on and try to pose it) and turning on the Boris HD dial.

The only issue you will have is adjusting the displacement maps and other textures for Poser. You will just need to figure out the offset.

    Hi Thom

That installation tutorial is for installers DAZ no longer uses. Boris (and all of the Genesis 1 and 2 figures/accessories) are in a DAZ Studio format, and require the DSON Importer to be used in Poser:

    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dson_importer/poser/userguide/start

The Importer is in the Store here and is free. It includes the base Genesis 1 and 2 figures:

As far as installing DAZ Content, I use DAZ Install Manager which downloads and installs it automatically...

    http://www.daz3d.com/install-manager-info

I have my Genesis content stored in a folder apart from my Poser content. Content can be installed in any folder and the folder added to the Poser Library. Herwe's a how-too; scroll down to Poser 8/9/10...

    Good Luck! :)
