Joint DAZ Studio / Poser Setup Question (Mac)

Hi, I'm about to reinstall all my 3D software (Poser 2014, DAZ 4.7, Reality 4 for both). Last time, I focused on Poser and had DIM install Genesis stuff in the main Poser runtime.
This time I'm looking for the best setup to use both Poser and DAZ frequentely. So my questions are:
- Where should I install V4 and M4 and all the add-ins/morphs which should better be located in the main runtime? In Poser or DAZ or in a seperate joint runtime?
- Where should I have DIM install Genesis, Genesis 2 and things like Victoria 6 Pro Pack which I purchased via DAZ? Poser, Studio or elsewhere? And what default path is recommended?
- What to do with stuff for V4 and G2F I bought over at Renderosity? Are external runtimes mapped to both Poser and Studio an option?
- Finally: Is it possible to have DIM use an external drive for both downloaded and installed stuff?
Feel free to point me to another thread, If parallel install/usage of Poser and Studio are already discussed there.

The advice I got from DAZ3D makes it simple, two content folders , one for DIM and one for everything else. Poser and DS can use the same content folder no problem. Yes you can have External content folders, I have both of mine on a separate HDD. All you need to do is to tell DIM, Poser and DS where those content folders are.
Thanks Szark, but how to start? You mentioned two content folders, one for DIM and one everything else.
Well, once a install Poser, I have my first runtime folder, created by Poser. After installation of studio, I have the second one with Studio's "My library". Now comes the interesting part:
Where should I install the "big packages" like the Genesis Base Packages, V4 or V6. As I have them all in DIM should I organize one of the two content folders above via DIM or should I create a third one (to be used by both apps) and just ignore the folders generated by Studio and Poser?
And if so, what about the rest? I have a lot of content in DIM. Too much actually to install it to my local disk. So I would prefer to have two things:
1. DIM should download stuff to an external disk and also store installed packages there. I think that should work with DIMs settings.
2. DIM should install content depending on subject. I.e. I would like to install - let's say - all environmental (buildings etc.) stuff to a dedicated content folder. That way DIM would kind of manage a lot of different folders. Folders I would also use for manual installation of Renderosity stuff.
Is that a good idea or should I better install everything DIM to the same folder and move it to the appropriate content folder later on?
Poser Runtime I believe can be moved, not a Poser user myself. So you could use that folder for free and other store content. The DS content folder can also be moved, I set this when I installed DS Studio Manually. The all DIM content can be installed in to that one. Then tell Poser where that DIm content is and tell DS where the Poser content folder is.
I have all my content on a seconday Slave HDD, as long as you point DS and Poser to those folders you shouldn't have a problem. Yes you would need to set up DIM so it knows where to install the content.
On the subject of multiple content folders this is what I USED to do http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/11176/#160953 but after this http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/44746/#657774 I now have just two main content folders and one for Beta testing products. In DS I used the Categorising function to organise my content into things like Buildings, clothing etc etc.
Also I went one step further with the downloads from DIM being on a different Folder than the default http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/19194/P195/#680683 so the only thing on my main HDD (C: drive) are the DIM Filters.
V4 and M4 are generation 4 figures and used an ExP system to be able to add morph channels as needed. The ExP system needs the morphs to be in the same runtime library as V4 and M4 and must be initialized by a utility file in /Runtime/Libraries/!DAZ. Do to the requirements of the ExP system I prefer to give DAZ's generation 4 figure their own runtime library.
