Recording favorite character's "formula/recipe" to back up necessary files
I have a V4 character that I use a lot and I'd like to keep all of the data to backed up somewhere so that if anything happens I can recreate the character. Dealing with the textures is simple enough, but I'm getting confused about the morphs.
I've injected a number of product morphs into the figure (products requiting V$ elite morphs) but I don't know if I would need copies of the product files as well as the basic V4 and elite morph files etc. Do product morphs work within the V4 dials (regular, elite, etc), so that as long as I knew what dials were tweaked which way, I could replicate it? Or do the product injections actually change the V4 structure? Or does it depend on the product?
Also, is there any script or program or something that I could "analyze" a character and get some notion of all the morphs and modifications applied? I'm afraid I'll miss something!

Do you mean named character morphs? That's hard to say - some will just be settings for some of the standard morphs, others will be custom sculpts that need to be injected to work. Al a pose preset stores are the morph settings - it doesn't inject the morphs, or even store their details beyond name and value. You need to find out, probably from the readme or the product page, whether the morph you are using is custom or "dial spun". Looking at the Currently Used group in the Parameters pane may give a helpful pointer.
Thanks! I notice now that just as you said some of the products talk about having custom heads and bodies, others only of custom heads (plus body morphs, and indeed it looks like these morphs are just ++dial spuns) etc. This will be very helpful in sorting out what's what. It'll take a while though, as I have modified the character so much and with so many resources :/
