You (or the PA) have to create a larger image, e.g. render a 256x256 PNG of the item. You can name it <Item>.tip.png to show up as a tooltip, but if you just replace the standard <item>.png file, Daz3D will automatically show it as the 91x91 image in the file listing, then show the full 256x256 image as the tooltip.

I really would wish they would get rid of the 91x91 file since the tip file will show up as the thumbnail. So much wasted space on your hard drive to have all those files

Can I suggest that you try renaming the .duf.png file as something else and then rename the .tip.png as .duf.png . You might be surprised. In 4.14 on, I think, the bigger .duf.png will show in the contents list. On 4.12 and 4.11 the full size .duf.png will show as the tip. I have instead been making the .tip.png as 512x512 px on my freebies over on Rendo.

Yes we have to make them manually (which is why I assume some don't make them at all). There is a product though that some PA's use in making thier thumbnail images but I am not sure if it makes tip images also. I also do not remember what it is called. I know the first two products I did, I just included the 256x256 files but the third product I submitted that way was sent back for corrections because it didn't have the 91x91 thumbnail files. It would be so much easier if we could just use the 256x256 since it resizes itself to the thumbnail itself. I also hate it when products don't have the tip image, especially when it comes to poses. It is so hard to see whats going on there in the preview lol

I like 256X256 because it displays correctly with windows set to Extra Large Thumbnail. I can also do without "Artistic" Thumbnails that are too dark or show a closeup of part of the gasrment

I wish that when Daz3D created a thumbnail, e.g. when saving a character preset, it used your current rendering mode. I'm using Iray but of course the default thumbnails don't look anything like that, so I end up making my own.

Yeah, I hear ya... I even went as far as making a Photoshop script to resize the PNGs (since the image script processor doesn't save PNG files) to resize pose thumbnails.  laugh

I would love for the default to be bumped up to something like 256x256.

May I add my endorsement to the request for clean thumbnails that show the product and for a tip file especially for poses?

I have more pose packs I ignore because I can't see the details and I don't want to mess up the timeline on a simulation.

And a thumbnail that shows items that the thumbnail is not for is confusing. I appreciate the PA who takes the time to makes a clean image of their outfit, bit by bit, so I can select it. And I buy from them in the future.

Older eyes appreciate ease of use.
