dForce Furry Tail doesn't work
https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-furry-tail
Here's the product... it's been removed from the store, my assumption is because it never worked... unsure. I bought this a long time ago and never got to use it because I needed the right subject.
Now I am trying to use it because I finally found the perfect subject. Daz thinks this for Gen 8 female, but when I use it on a Gen 8 Female it doesn't know who it's made for and doesn't OFFER Gen 8 female as an option. When it shows up the "Object location is essentially at point 0.0.0 (x.y.z) while the actual tail seems to graft onto the pelvis of the character. Then the posing manually doesn't move it at all, the materials generate an error when trying to apply one. The shaping features also don't move anything and using the dials to shape it also doens't work. so, in a nutshell. NOTHING about this works.

Is/was it the AprilYSH one? If so, it was a christmas freebie in 2019 and will have been withdrawn because it's no-longer Christmas 2019.
Must admit I didn't suceed much with it if that is the one you're referring to.

Richard
very possibly. but does anyone know how to make it work?
That tail was a xmas freebie and as with all my previous xmas freebies it moves to my website after xmas so as not to affect my store sales here at Daz.
It is available here http://shop.aprilsvanity.com/dforce-furry-tail.html
but you need to read the readme properly to use it.Goodluck! ;)
Alternatively, I suggest you check out https://www.daz3d.com/kiko-81 she comes with a tail and may work for you :)
AprilYSH puts her old Christmas freebies up on her site http://shop.aprilsvanity.com/free-items.html
Which version of DS are you using? It's a universal prop, to be aprented to the figure you are using, not an item for fitting.
I see that now. the issue seemed to appear because of a bad install, I actually had to reinstall from the vendor website. Likely I installed it around the same time I had to reinstall Daz 3 times and scrub the registry.
Turn on preview hairs in parameters turn the slider for View Port tessilation up to 2 or 3 and the render tessilation up to 2. Sometimes this feature is further under a file tree for example Dforce willona hair you have to look under the main file path in paramaters and see another hair piece with the same name or scalp of the hair that has the settings, sometimes the tessilation settings and preview settings are in another section of the hair piece or fur, you will know which is the right file path if it's not the main file path it's usually located under it in parameters.
