Need a sign for a tavern/inn

Hi guys!

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I'm putting this in what looks like the "catchall" forum.

I finally figured out what I want to do (first) with Daz Studio, and I need something pretty specific that I don't think I can do with my limited art skills.

I'm working on a fantasy webcomic, and one of the featured locations is going to be the Flaming Griffon Inn. I need a sign for the facade. I've got (or can make) wood texture that I can slap onto a primitive and I think I can even sculpt myself a nice sign shape.

What I need, however, is the actual signage. I need a nice flaming griffon to go on the sign. Oddly enough, a Google search doesn't really come up with the image I need. ;)

If anyone can help me I'd be much appreciative. Note I'm not asking for a freebie. I will entertain price quotes, too.

Thanks!

-C

Googling Gryphon Emblem came up with quite a few images that could work with a sign. Most of them come from old family coat of arms so you shouldn't run into copyright problems.

As far as how you would do it? Magic wand the black from the Emblem > red , orange and yellow gradient fill > layer over your wood texture and change the layer settings to something like color burn, overlay or multiply to make it look like it was painted on?

Why don't you photomanipulate a legitimate stock image from DeviantArt? There are lots of possibilities: http://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/resources/?q=griffon

Don't forget there are different spellings; gryphon, griffin, griffon etc. It's an old word that isn't used a lot these days, and variant spellings aren't unusual.
