Please explain the database backup, cleanup, and restore.

I've been through YouTube videos about database backup, cleanup, and restoration. What I want to know is if there is something in the process that could contribute to full copies of products being generated after the restoration process.

They are full copies. I hesitate to say the full copies are in the Lost and Found because I said I would avoid talking about the L&F, but that is where the full product copies dropped. Currently, I remain in process of removing or moving, those copies. I'm on day 6 of that process (I can only spend a couple of hours on this process per day). I still have a ways to go. I will post some screenshots. BRB.

The process I followed was from this YouTube video:   After that, the copies appeared.

Screenshot "Full duplicate - 1" shows the product in the L&F and displays the file count for that instance of the product.

Screenshot "Full duplicate - 2" shows where I checked for the original location before I ran the database reset and restore. Female>Real World

Screenshot "Full duplicate - 3" shows the file count in that "Real World" location.

The two product copies are the same. In this case, I will delete the product copy in the L&F and move on to the next listing in the L&F.

I want to know if there is something in my cleanup process that is creating these full duplicates. Thanks.

I see. This brings me back to the idea of a plugin that will help up those of us that want to clean these things up, even if it IS only temporary. Faster would be preferable so I don't have to spend days on it.

    Thanks, cridgit.

OK. Right or wrong, each time I want to clean the database I will back up the user metadata (export) first with a clean L&F. After re-importing from my user export I will go into the L&F and delete everything. If there was something in it that shouldn't be deleted I'll see it and a need to install or update. No need to go through every single one anymore. If it's clear before the process then it should be after.
