Camera Magic: WaterCam DAZ Studio

Okay, I've been wanting to try the watercam since it debuted but I admit, I just can't get the hang of it. My renders look dark, and not at all like the images I see advertising the product.
Is there a trick to doing this?
Has anyone gotten this to produce a nice render, and can you tell me how?
There doesn't appear to be any documentation that I can find... Maybe I'm missing something, though.
Here is just a character zeroed and at dead center of the screen. with the initial camera loaded.

Did you add extra lights?
I just tried the Water Cam using an additional distant light at a low light output (30% and lower), and it looks okay (minus the eyes thing, but that's a different matter).
Looks good. No, I didn't add any additional since a gel light was included with the set.
