Aligning / parenting an object *not* with its base to another's base / solution included

I want to put the lash of a backpack to the hand and let it get move with the hand. Despite in the past it always worked the way I wanted like it was glued to the parent exactly were I put it, in my current scene I noticed that the base of the backpack is relevant for where it is fixed: The base of the backpack is attached to the parent "hand", not where I wanted it to be, lets say the base with an offset and the lash of the backpack (/= base!) with the hand.

Like.. a knife got it's base at the handle, but in my case I want a person hold thise knife by its blade and move with the hand. It always puts the base / handle of the knife into the hand.

Workaround could be parenting it to a NULL and attach the NULL to the hand, but...

edit: you try and try and it doesn't work out, then you post the request and then you figure it out on your own... ok, after parenting it you still can move / align the object.
