Combining Primitives into One Item?

I know there's a product that allows you to join primitives together, but I was wondering if it's possible to do it just using DS on its own. Maybe in Hexagon? My goal is to distort a character from the inside out using smoothing/collision mods, but I would like to add shapes to the cube used in the attached pic. Any advice would be welcome as I have no idea what I'm doing.

I believe it is the weld option in hexagon
If you are not that bothered about the primitives being welded together, but want them as one object for smoothing reasons, then the simpliest solution is to export out the three objects as a single obj, then reimport it back again, after which it will be just one obj.
Basically just hide everything except the primitives and then export.
There's a wield/union option in Gescon I think. It's called something different though. You might want to check that thread.
What's Gescon?
Never mind... I found it...
I actually wish listed it...
Damn stupid brain.
Thanks for the input, everyone! I'll give the suggestion by Havos a try. That sounds like it should do the trick.
