Converting Displace Maps to Geometry in DS?

I am simulating street curbs on a non-uniform surface using a displace map. I am wondering the manual way to convert that to geometry in DS? I know
Ultra Scenery uses a script to take a height map and generate terrain. Basically, it seems to me the same operation. I am wondering instead of scripting it,
what is the manual set of operations to do this? Or is this completely done via scripted geometric construction and not available natively via the DS interface?
This image is a highly simplified example.

This below is a little exaggerated to show the effect.

I don't believe this is possible in DS itself.
you must believe

I nearly added a comment about scripting it.
