in the promo it's a sleek hair.  why is it so bulky looking?

    what a rip off

I don't know about the crown, but I have seen the bulk issue with dforce hairs before. It doesn't usually look normal until after it's been simulated with dforce. Which might be a problem if you only want to use it in Carrera. Might be able to return it though.

thankgoodness still in the 30 days.  what a waste of money.

there is no file to load the crown. doesn't seem to be built into the hair, don't see any surfaces for a crown.

i see a dsf file for crown new uvs, but i don't see any option in ds to import a dsf geometry.

Looking at your screen shot did you load the crown?

Your installation seems to be messed up. Under data/Chevybabe25/dForce Desert Queen Hair I see two folders for the crown, 'dforce Desert Queen Crown G3' and 'dforce Desert Queen Hair Crown' (for G8F). Under Hair/dforce Desert Queen Hair there is one folder for the crown and another folder for the face shield. If you don't see this folders, I'd recommend to reinstall the hair.

Just made a test. Yes, the hair looks bulky, but only BEFORE the dForce simulation. When the simulation is done, the hair is sleek.

I was also able to load the prop of the crown without any hair. Seems that your installation is faulty...

Yes chanur is correct :) The hair will look correct after being simulated.

The crown is located in the crown folder and has big letters across the thumbnail that says "PROP".   There should also be directions on how to use it with the hair in the crown folder(thumbnail with big letters that says "READ ME") because it also simulates.

it won't work in Carrara at all actually

it imports rigged but no faces/polygons only lines you can see in the vertex room

    thanks.

this was my first dforce hair.  and my last.  an awful experience.

is the crown loader mixed in with the mat files?

well if you set viewport line tesallation to 2 and enable PBR view you can indeed export the hair too as an object

(i don't own that one but some load the bits with the hair not separately)

it may eventually load in Carrara, most I tried are over a Gigabyte

nothing I have loads them easily if at all

I did get the Fantasy Hair pack as an obj or a duf prop into Carrara but it was impossible to use in any way

I tried conforming it to the original with the transfer utility too (the prop) and saving as support asset blended weight, carrara took 4 hours I swear loading morphs before it crashed

It is the dforce Desert Queen Crown.duf. the thumbnail has the word "PROP" on it. It is located in the "Crown"  folder.  This will export just fine to whatever outside program you want to use it in. The hair is another story.

Can Carrara not take imported guide hairs and use them as its own guide hairs for a native hair object? If it does you could try turning the hair density way down in DS and export like that, then convert to native Carrara hair.

i bought this mainly for the pretty crown and the gold dangly chains.
tho the sleek hair looks nice.

mebbe the dforce draping can be converted to a morph for the sleek look, so it wont be a total loss.

    Thanks.

To my knowledge,  there is no way in daz studio to make a sim of the hair and then reimport it back into a morph while keeping the style of the hair intact. A few of us have been hoping for the possibility, but so far, nope. You can try exporting the hair as lines( make sure you turn up the viewport line tesselation to at least 2, then export them. Be forewarned this hair is really heavy and will probably take forvever to export.
