Yura's Sci-Fi Urban Warrior Outfit not working on G8F

It's frustrating. This outfit states support for G8F and G8.1F.

But loading it on G8F brings up auto-fit. Scene identification change works but has to be done on 7 single outfit items. And once done the h.materials do no longer work probably expecting a G8.1F.

Why is it so hard to include proper support for 8.0 and 8.1 in a product these days?

Those and the few other inconveniences are exactly why I haven't bought anything that says anything about 8.1. There's seemingly less and less in the new releases that I even give a second look at this point. Disappointing. Hope others are really getting some kind of value out of different weird looking expression and the new surfaces that it sounds like (for whatever reason) aren't usually included/used to make it worth having gone after the 8.1 figures.

A little trick I learned about using hierarchical material presets is to parent everything, using the same hierarchy, to a Null or Group with the same Node Name as the intended target. (Note: not the Node Label, that is what is displayed in the scene tab, and can be anything you like). Set the Node Name when you create the Null or Group. You can change the Node Name in the Scene Identification dialog if you don't get it right. (Don't change the target figure's Node Name, as that would break any functionality for everything else that needs the figure's original Node Name, like poses, morphs, materials, etc.).

This way you can apply the hierarchical material preset to the Null or Group, whether the items are fit to the figure or not. All the preset wants is a root node with the right name that matches the requirement and a matching hierarchy. Also note that items can be fit to a figure without being parented to it, so there is no harm un-parenting them to move to the Null or Group. Props could be tricky, though. Unparenting them would break the functionality, but they would get the material settings. I suppose they could be re-parented where they came from.
