Daz Studio and online communities query

Daz studio and online communities query regarding Daz availability outside Daz. The question is, is Daz Studio ever appeared at humblebundle (huge community also helping many charitable projects)? If never, then why Daz not paying attention to a huge community of gamers and creators?

    Because DAZ|Studio is free already.

Daz can participate with some bundles and along with free Daz Studio and Hexagon and probably one year pc plus subscription. It is free however free doesn't mean it reached every corner.

I know that Daz assets came be and are used in games, but I would hate seeing Daz being marketed and sold along with games in gaming communities/stores more than it is already. I am a gamer, developer and modder, and in my experience many gamers only install Daz Studio to get Daz assets into games, usually as sharable mods without licenses. I see this often and report it often. In my experience, there is a BIG difference in community between those that actually use Daz Studio for what it is and does and those that just want the assets Daz sells, I have seen it both ways and like the type of community we have here more.

Not along with games. Because Daz already have Daz Shop and it is one of the excellent quality shop.

Time to time there are some bundle sale happens, those bundles are Books Bundle, Software Bundle, Music Bundle, Graphics Bundle, VFX Bundle, Games bundle etc. Those bundle are temporary and for short period of time.

    This page:

    https://www.humblebundle.com/bundles

They already generated for charity https://www.humblebundle.com/charities?hmb_source=navbar ;      $198,000,000

Have you ever seen free software in those bundles? like Graphics Bundles containing Blender or Gimp ....

How to create charity from something that adds exactly 0$ to the charity (because it is free) ??

The fact is Daz is a premium software.

    Example Bundle

    1 year PC + Subscription = $70 value

10 to 30 Bundle and other items = More than $3000 value

    Daz Studio + Hexagon + Carara = $285 value

    Gift card of $10 = $10 value

    Total value more than $3000

    =============

Now bundle sold average @ 25 or 30. If 20000 bundle sold means 20000X25 = $500000, or if something goes wrong due to current Covid pandemic even then 10000 bundle minimum

The fact is that Daz is not a premium software and PC is not needed to use it to the fullest.

PC only becomes useful when you are making more purchases.

A bundled offer of PC + some item bundles is not a good idea because even long term users who do make lots of purchases often find maybe one or two items in a Daz bundle useful for them.

Also, Daz models aren't even useful for a gamer who's not already a Daz user because this audience is interested in playing iteractive games and one can not legally use Daz assets for making game mods unless they also purchase the interactive licence for used models and textures.

But I have a serious idea - Daz can offer NFT charity bundles! wink

This is a Corel Software bundle example not a single game included at all.

THE BUNDLE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR IS OVER

THIS BUNDLE WAS LIVE FROM SEP 30, 2020 TO OCT 21, 2020 WITH 41,721 BUNDLES SOLD, LEADING TO US$1,119,747.75 RAISED.

Another Corel Software bundle not a single game included

THE BUNDLE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR IS OVER

THIS BUNDLE WAS LIVE FROM SEP 25, 2019 TO OCT 16, 2019 WITH 70,454 BUNDLES SOLD, LEADING TO US$1,601,295.31 RAISED.

Reason behind those PC+ and Gift Card included is to introducing Daz Shop experience for new users, though if Daz site can handle it, if the bundle become popular one.

TBH I'm not sure how Daz could make a serious effort to advertise to a broader audience online without at some point hitting gamers. Avoiding outlets like HB won't keep away people who are doing what you describe, because "would-be game devs who want assets" already describes a ton of the people picking up 3D modeling software and watching tutorials. The crossover with gaming in any group of people with a likely interest in Daz is huge, and their partnership with Flipped Normals probably brought more visibility to people who just want assets than HB would.

It's kind of bonkers to me that they haven't done significant outreach toward the broader digital art community, since using 3D models to assist with illustration and concept art is rapidly becoming industry standard. When I first started using Daz Studio, that was the only group of users I saw treating it as a legitimate part of a professional workflow--and that makes sense, because their individual work in the program doesn't require anyone else in their production pipeline to touch it. Creating a bundle themed around that with tutorials and a gift card voucher/PC+ membership would probably get some attention, especially since HB does a lot of digital art and 2D game asset offers. There is a broad valley between "I should really learn Blender so I can do this" and "I don't want to/don't have time to learn Blender" in which many potential Daz customers probably dwell.

Actually, you can't use Daz assets for mods at all, even with the interactive license. Its' for original game design only, not mods.

It's highly unlikely that anyone who reads the forums has any input on whether or not this happens; certainly nobody who posts on the forums does.

Galaxy, why would a company that offers a free program, use Humble Bumble to turn it into a paid program, just to raise money for a charity? There are other ways Daz has raised money for charities that does not involve turning their free program into a paid one, even temporarily, not to mention they would lose customers if they did that. They tried turning their software into a paid one a long time ago, that didn't go over so well.

Probably an official path to various watermarks and chirons would be a good idea. I see these all the time -- "Daz Studio Iray Genesis 8" -- sort of thing, but I have no idea where they are stored and what the deal is.

Ditto a linking program. Link for a discount or "DAZ brownie points" sort of thing. And people would probably pay for various "DAZ" branded merchandise.

I see DAZ 3D display advertising all the time in newspaper web pages like the New York Times. Inserted by Google I guess. I find these incredibly annoying. I've nothing against DAZ but there's just too much advertising on some pages. )-:
