Any way to save changed base parameter settings like limits, etc. ?

I've decided to make some new sliders for things that have always annoyed me, just as an example: the "Tongue In-Out" slider that never really worked if you want the char to stick the tongue out. For that I need to change some limits of existing sliders, like tongue1 Z-Translate which is locked by default and limited to -0, 0 (I know Daz uses scaling that is not locked, but that just doesn't look good once the tongue is outside of the mouth).
So my question is: is there any way to save these changes without having to overwrite the original character files? I know I can save as > save modified assets, but if I ever decide to give these morphs and poses away it would probably be better to not having to rely on the user to make these changes to the original base character.

Save a Character preset and use that to load the figure (don't apply it to a pre-loaded base figure), or save a Scene Subset and merge that in as needed.
That would be a bit counter productive though, I don't expect the user to save a changed base-char (most won't ever do that), so having to load a different char than the one you probably want to use - every time! - you decide to use one of the morphs or poses would probably be a bit too much for most people.
Well, they would use the preset to load the base character and then aply shaping/materials/character presets to that. The only other way to add new sliders etc. if via a script
