Genesis 8 and 8.1 to poser 11

Is there any way to export genesis 8 and 8.1 to poser 11? I have some scenes I got on renderosity that look awesome that I COULD import into Daz and relight but it'd look like garbage so I'd rather export my characters (preferably clothed before exporting if possible as it's for still images only) instead.

Not easily. If you are just doing a still shot, you could try exporting as obj or fbx or whatever, but you would have to rebuild the materials and whatnot. The kind of riggin used in DS doesn't really work well in many other programs. Lots of joint driven morphs etc are used to make G8 bend as well as it does in DS

  • So it's probably just better (or easier) to import the scene into DAZ? I can do that okay it's just not optimal when it comes to appearance. The 3delight to iray plug in will help but I'll have to redo some of the emissive textures manually. Again perfectly doable just not preferable. It boils down to expectations and/or personal preference I guess

  • Is there a way to manually change textures in Daz studio to emissives and change the emissive colors in the parameters? These will be on objects imported from poser of course. I know how to apply premade emissive textures to them. I just thought it'd give me more control and flexibility if I did it manually. Either way it looks like redoing the lighting (retexturing the emissives mostly) is less work and possibly more creative flexibility

There is an emission color picker, or you could control the color VIA the temperature if that's more convenient. Either put the emission color to white and use light temp, or leave the temp around default and use the color picker. I find using color instead of temp is good for things like neon lights, but mostly I prefer to use the temp settings when working with like light bulbs and the like.
