Making stage lighting not affect a texture?

So I have a photographic background stuck on a plane primitive and I want the photo to be completely unaffected by all the light on the stage and just render true to the original photograph, what settings do I use in the materials window to make an object not get any shading? I've done it before, and I thought it was turning off either ambient or specular, but I'm trying to do it and can't seem to make it work now.

The main channel affected by light sources would be the diffuse channel, that said you could always place your image in post. Set it up to render, then hide the background image and then replace it in post. Or you can set the image in the Environment pane as the background which I believe isn't influenced by lighting either. Of course it would depend on how you have set things up whats easier.

You need to put the image in the ambient channel.

In most cases it's enough to have the image in Ambient or Diffuse, not both, as they are multiplied together. uber Area Light is an exception to this.
