Need help with render settings for moonlit picnic

in The Commons
The setting is Bikini Island by night, we have four participants having a picnic, surrounded by Tiki torches...I plain can't get the lighting right in iRay. Details are missed and if I increase the ISO settings too much, it looks like a day scene. So I ask the experienced Daz 3D artists, what render settings would you use so the charter's features are visible but still look like nighttime, and where it doesn't look like there's a spotlight from the top casting shadows on the sand?

Light it more like day (or at least aim for sunset or twilight), change it in post. You can change tonal values, contrast afterwards.
In the movies, night scenes are often lit much brighter than you expect when they film it.
EDIT: Or you can do the Game of Thrones, Battle of Winterfell approach... i.e. grainy black graininess.
I usually turn off all lights and start from there. render with a blue light on the side, an orange light on the other side, and a white light for the rim. I then take all three renders into photoshop and adjust their levels using the "lighten" blending mode to get the right balance. I may add a normal render into the mix for areas that need a little more detail.
You can adjust the gamma value in Render Settings, which can (with a lower value) keep the areas away from the lights darker while leaving the brighter areas alone
Thanks for the input everyone...since it's a private beach I guess it's no foregone conclusion that solar-powered LED spotlights could be mounted on the top of the palm trees, explaining the bright conditions and shadows on the sand in spite of the fact that it's night time ;)
Start with a night time sky HDRI, crank up the tiki torch lights to something like 100-1000 times normal, this will look absolutely awful, turn down the film ISO in tonemapping until it looks like nighttime.
I'd look for a nice bright night sky HDRI...this pack has a wonderful one - https://www.daz3d.com/skies-of-gaia-volume-2--40-8k-hdris-for-iray
