I have limited Peak data allowance and so I want to download DAZ3D in off-peak time. But I cannot find a way to feed my scheduler the URL to donwload. Can I do this, please?

I'm not aware of a way to do this, other than manually stopping and resuming the process in Install Manager.

If you're using DIM/Windows, there is a dedicated DIM scheduler here:

Note btw that when it stops, any files still downloading will continue to download until finished.  So if timing is critical you may want to set DIM to use one thread only and/or sort the Download list by "Package Size: Largest first".

If you make a list of SKUs for only the files you want to download and enter them into the Search field DIM will only list these.  The SKU list should be comma separated like this:  sku::1234,34564,23432,32354,3767 etc..

Actually I have some code which will convert a DIM file list in CSV format (checkmark the files you want to include then right click and select "Export Selected to CSV...") into such an SKU list, I think I will add that feature to the scheduler (you can check for updates under the "Help" menu).

I am confused, sorry. What is DIM/Windows? What is an SKU?

    Thanks again

DIM/Windows is the Windows version of  "DAZ Install Manager" - a more advanced version of DAZCentral:

    https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360057993731-How-to-install-the-Daz-Install-Manager-DIM-

    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/install_manager/start

The SKU is the Product ID number, the most reliable way to ID a product - you can find it on product pages and product library pages:

In DIM you can find the SKU and other product info by hovering the mouse over a product so the ToolTip pops up.  If you enter a list of SKUs in the Search field as shown here DIM will only show the products on the list.

  • You are being so helpful!

OK.Sorry I did not let you know. I kept posting comments and they would never appear, so I sort of gave up :( .I found out what DIM was. Now have set it up with DIM Scheduler to (hopefully) download all the basic stuff for DAZ Studio, after midnight. I wait with bated breath. If it works you have my eternal gratitude.I have to say that the little click-box saying Do not click (test only) is almost irresistable :D. Sort of like "Do not shoot this sign" :D

I have used DAZ in the pretty distant past, so I will be interested to see what has happened since.

Back in the day I was on a 28.8 KB/s land line and had to go into town to an Internet Cafe to download any multimendai stuff. So yeah it was a while ago.

No problem. :)  I think you have misunderstood what the "Do not click (test only)" box does though.  If it's checked and you run the scheduler it will work as it's supposed to, but it will not click the buttons.  This way you can simulate a complete scheduled download after setting the mouse click coordinates.  Just set the timer to start one or two minutes after Time Now, and then stop again after a minute, and check that the mouse pointer hits the buttons correctly.  If it does, uncheck the "Do not click" box, set the timer to the actual start and stop times you want, and click Start.

  • Well everything seems to have worked. It did take a couple of tries, but I may have missed one oif the steps: probably the start stop in the scheduler. So you do indeed have my undying gratitude. :D

The idea to send a fake button click is a claver way to get around a fairly closed UI.

Ahhhh! Yes I certainly did misunderstand. I thought it was _you_ testing something :D But what you describe is certainly a very useful feature

    Thanks again.
