Weight Maps - yellow color

This is a very simple  question, yet I could not find any answer for it. What's yellow color in the weight maps for? Red and blue are understandable, but yellow? Please look at the picture and tell me what the color yellow means there. There should be some reason for having it smiley

Areas that don't have any weight, I believe - which are effectively zero.

The number of weight map colors and the colors themselves can be modified in the Tool Settings pane. These are the default values, I believe.

Thank you for the reply, Barbuilt. You've showed me the way to modify colors, but it does not explain the purpose of the yellow color.

Thank you for your reply, Richard! I've checked the DAZ manual. It says: "Blue equals no weight, Red equals weight". ( Basic: Weight Mapping a Figure (WIP) [Documentation Center] (daz3d.com) )

The manual says that Blue equals no weight. You are saying that Yellow are the areas that don't have any weight. What's the difference? Yeah, it is a bit confusing...

In the colors screehshot I posted, you can see that yellow has a weight slightly lower than blue.Neither one is zero. It shows color at weight 0 as gray. I have no idea why it is configured that way.

The colors are visual references for the individual who is weight mapping. They are guides so to speak. Weight mapping in other applications and parts of the industry can be very elaborate at times based upon the object that is skinned and how it needs to be animated.

The colors are standardized, so it's not just a Daz thing. Here's a vid.

    Sorry, I was misremembering.

barbult I would think the idea is to be able to see the weights that are near enough 0 so that they can be made exactly zero.

    Ah, that makes some sense!
