DForce Romeo hair is causing my renders to lock up. Is it extremely resource intensive? Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I'm glad I found this post. Tried using the Romero hair last night and it rendered for 2.5 hours and crashed. Tried again and the same result. Very simple scene, it usually takes my renders 20 mins for what I do. Did you ever find a fix or is it truly just resource intensive?
