Someone had posted them . all of them in Poser format like last year or something but i deleted them. Now i want them back but i think the guy who had them in poser format, deleted his site.

I'm talking about these cars

Why is there nothing to import LWO cars? Is there? I havent used DAZ in a while.

PoseRay reads (among several formats) LWOs and writes OBJs.

    Nokoteb99,

I have an older tutorial on converting models that covers PoseRay a bit that may be useful to you

please note that this is several years out fo date and certain alternative programs listed there are no longer available.

Another great capability of PoseRay is to fix borderline (or plainly wacked) OBJ files (its OBJ parser is more robust than Ahnold ).

I can say nothing but good things about PoseRay.

  • I knw this is an old topic but I downloaded poseray and can't open those LWO car fils in it, they do not show up as an option to open in Poseray, anyone know why or if there is anoher way to convert those files to obj?

How exactly are you trying? PoseRay has a very weird layout that took me a little while to get used to, it's not immediately obvious which hoops you need to jump through.

Note that there are two kinds of Lightwave files, .lwo (LightWave Object) and .lws (LightWave Scene), which are sort of like DAZ|Studio's Scene Subset and Scene options. PoseRay can only open .lwo files.

Although is a problem in Daz, seems to be n surface options there like there normally is

  • I find Blender to be the best thing to open and convert LWO to obj

even though Carrara my main program natively imports them as does Poser they have issues one does not get with Blender.

Look more closely at the Surfaces pane. It's in the Presets sub-tab, if you change it to the Editor sub-tab you'll see all the selectable surfaces on the car model.

  • Oh I see, how'd I miss that blush thanks

  • Don't worry too much, it's an easy thing for your eyes to just skip right over. With all my D|S experience, I still manage to do something similar at least once a week.
