That is up to you and what types of renders you do and your workflow. MUST HAVES are a tough call since we have had threads on those before and very rarely do users agree on the same things. scene optimizer is probably a safe bet for most though

The most I benefitted from PC+ was on the initial discount on new items and then using the monthly coupons on things in my wishlist since they don't work on new items. Stacking coupons with things on sale usually gives you the best bang for the buck.

Basically, I use my PC+ discounts to pick up older stuff that still works great at a huge discount. I'm talking about V4, Genesis, and Genesis 2 goodies, plus props and such from those eras. The current releases are radically overpriced as has been commented on in a recent thread, so my view is that PC+ is best for filling out your library with things you wanted from the past but couldn't get. Once they wind up in the PC+ sale or discount list, snag them.

One warning: Daz charged me twice for my PC+ membership last year and refused to refund the second charge. I just noticed it a few weeks ago when I was going over my old statements looking for something else. That's a really bad biz practive and the reason that I'll be leaving PC+ when my current subscription ends. Daz customer "support" basically said, too bad, you should have noticed, PC+ sales are final, blah blah blah... So.... I'm not saying to not sign up for PC because you can get some super deals. I am saying to check your receipts carefully and make sure that you aren't doublebilled. Because it happened to me. And, Daz didn't care. And, kept my money. Even after I complained. And, after I said I'd be leaving PC+ as a result.

    Take care,

    Bob

Spend $24 today and $30 tomorrow, or spend $30 today and $24 tomorrow?

Basically, I just use them as soon as I have a cart where using one is applicable, and yields the full $6 discount on the cart, since there are occasionally sales where the discount doesn't count for (some of) the items because they have a fixed price, or are free or something like that, but is subtracted. I rarely finish a month where I forgot to use them. I usually used them within the first ten days of the month.

  • Depending on your spending money & spending habits. The best way to save money is to not spend the money. Only buying when you can maximize the coupons is helpful to maximizing your discount, which is not the same as saving money.

Finding use for PC+ items is probably the wisest strategy if you're PC+ and you want to maximize discounts, but what is the hobby? Is it collecting stuff that has no collectable value? Is it making images that nobody looks at? (LOL)

The biggest value is what you make of it, really. If I forget to use a coupon? Such is life. If I miss a sale? There's always another sale. Don't sweat it, and they'll have fewer ways to disappoint you.

I am not a PC+ member. To get most bang for my buck I scour the sales and use freebies wherever possible. I also make a few where I am able - hoping that will encourage others to do the same. There are an amazing number of fantastic quality freebies that complement paid-for stuff. Look at the freebie forum competitions, each entry has a list of source links to widen everyone's resources. I have been introduced to many sources that way. If you do go ahead with PC+, think on it after a year, and maybe let those who aren't know what you thought of it.

In terms of getting the best return on your coupons, I suggest taking time to look through the range of Daz Originals, and wishlist the ones you like the look of - especially if they are around the $6 mark. Then you'll have a stack of things to potentially spend your coupon on if it gets to the end of the month and you haven't used it yet. Because you shouldn't be in a tearing hurry to use that coupon - Daz often have generous sales on Daz Originals, and you can use that coupon to make them more generous still.

The $6 off $18, on he other hand, should be used on the first qualifying purchase, there's no point in saving it. Depending on how likely you are to spend $18, it may be worth adding something cheap to a basket worth $12+ to push it up to $18, but that depends on your spending paterns.

I rarely use the 30% off new items, except for PC+ items. Normal items will be discounted by 50% (or more) sooner or later, so I just wait.

The real bang-for-buck-booster is the huge stack of heavily discounted PC+ items, especially the older $1.99 stuff. Develop the skill of using this old content - fitting it to newer figures, convverting the textures to iray and/or adding newer textures/shaders. There's a lot of good stuff there to unlock.

You probably get the best value from the 18usd coupon if you are patient. We all know the thrill of getting stuff when it's shiny and new and just released, but as irl if you wait longer you get the better deals.

Daz runs multiple 50% off events throughout the year where all non-new releases are 50% off (sometimes even more for PC+ members or DOs). Before sales start usually a gift card offer comes along. If you combine 20% off gift cards with 50% discounts and also use your 6usd off coupon that yields you hood offers and it's reliable.

Of course there are higher discounts available but they can be less reliable if there is a special item you're waiting for. The best deal is certainly waiting for an item to become PC+ for a day and get it for 2usd but that's a bit of luck of the stuff you want happens to be in the product pool.

...there are also Fash Sales that can be anywhere between 40% - 60% off.  The current one gives PC+ memers an extra 10%
