Windows 11 and Monterey

I know Microsoft has released an public beta of Windows 11. I also know that Apple has public betas for Monterey (Intel/M1). I am wondering is Daz|Studio 14.5 compatible with Windows 11?? It's been months of waiting for a MacOS update...will Windows 11 be pushed out before the Mac version is done???

Win10 lifecycle is until Oct 2025, from what I've seen of 11 leaks I'm in no rush to hop over to it. My Mac won't even support the current iOS and I now have to use a virtual mac to use xcode, or buy a new machihne. I'm totally done with apple at the point except for porting apps to the sheep market. I can not stand IOS structure in any way shape or form. Unfortunantly 11 looks like they want to steal some of these very same annoying designs...sigh.

  • There is very little changed under the hood on 11, it's a cosmetic update (run Android apps, fancy widgets, some desktop changes and they will try to to force you to use Teams), DAZ is not using and "special" features so I would not expect any huge (if any) problems, but MS is great on messing up graphics drivers so there is a chance that iRAY will cause problems if you use that. but you have a bigger chance to run into hardware problems if you have older cpu's or other hardware (TPM and so on).

As said by charles, there is no rush to install a new version of the Microsoft advertising platform, there is nothing wrong with Windows 10 (at least nothing more wrong than in 11...)

  • I have installed DAZ 4.15 on windows 11 21H2 build 22000.184 on a MSI GL65E (I5 9300H/32 GB and Geforce 2060/6gb)
This build is far to be perfect and I have softs that worfs fine into my workflow like Affinity suit and Adobe Bridge and photoshop express. Acdsee pro refuse to works fine and often crash.
For DAZ all is fine, I use beta drivers of Nvidia 471.68. it works very well in Iray and rendering is fast. reactivity of the computer is very good too but RAM usage is very high. I found that it is a lot easier to go 100% in CPU even if I do not use it in render and same for RAM, with win 10 i rarely go to more than 20 gb of RAM, now  30gb is common.

Usually I run a render while I work in affinity with a publisher document of 20 to 100 pages with images (rendered mainly), a web cbrowser (chrome) with 20+ tabs (music, ressources and so), my mail and a graphic application (Acdsee or Affinity photo).
On this machine I experience crash of DAZ time to time and stange errors like a character that come at the 10th of the size of the others while doing nothing special.
most of the time all works fine but far to be permanenty reliable.

of course drivers might be a problem, none of this has been a problem under win 10 and crash where rare. I know I overload my computer but I don't care it is his duty to work hard.  For now I see no real benefit of win11 compared to win 10 but Iray and DAZ works fine.

The main new feature of Windows 11 is to tie security to the hardware.  Google for the Web Page:  "Update on Windows 11 minimum system requirements and the PC Health Check app" on the Microsoft site.
